I'd be happier than I am now, but they don't play DT, LB, S, or CB.... which also really seems like needs right now.

Let's hope for a great game tonight and a great season.

Amen, brother!

Anderson & Carter had picks tonight.

The 1st team CBs were not tested because it was all gashing runs by Wash.

Thrown by their 3rd QB to their 6th WR and 4th QB to their 5th WR.

If we have a game where it's 2nd/3rd team vs 2nd/3rd team, I will consider starting them both, but I am talking actual NFL starter needs.

Philly's scrubs destroyed us last week. It was progress.

Did you expect anyone to think you'd be content?

If we sign Risner, some will be happy for about 35 seconds

Sadly, very true

Let's get him signed and hopefully he shores up RG

Fairchild was a beast again last night and looking like a steal in round 3. Sign Risner and on paper our offense has shot tobe top 3 in the NFL in all categories. The defense no doubt is out of kilter. My biggest concern with them is pass rush and last night our run defense by 1st team was horrid. Hill, Trey, BJ Hill and Stone were not playing, but still very concerning.

I did not think Stewart played well night, he is a work in progress.

Risner is a QUALITY pass blocker but a sub-standard run blocker.

Like all OL who come here, his grades will likely slip on pass pro vs his prior stops because our offense is so predictable. DE's get to tee off more against us.

He is a fine, low cost, 1-2 year bridge to a more permanent RG solution. Who hopefully is a better run blocker. Heck, maybe it is Rivers.

Ford, Volson, and Patrick have all had starting shots and I think most observers would agree are better suited as backups. Getting Risner puts these guys back into their proper places.

IF we get Risner signed, I think the offensive developments have been positive.

QB: full camp for Burrow should get us out of the gates faster. Browning a solid #2. Ridder an uograde on Woodside with possible upside as the PS QB.

RB: Brown as RB1 from jump will help us. And Perine + Brooks is better than Moss + T. Williams. Brightwell & Milton for the RB4/PS slot.

WR: Tee & Chase are back and the bottom of the roster looks much better. Yoshi looks improved. Chuck Sizzle looks healthy and MUCH improved. Tinsley has been a revelation. And Burton has not been AWOL. I. Williams and Pryor not without merit either.

TE: getting Fant was a boon. An actual 2 way TE! The rest are either WRs in truth (Gesicki, Hudson) or lumbering blockers (Sample, Grandy). Still, an improvement.

OT: the only area we really have not improved in. OBJ healthier & year 2 of Mims shoukd see improvement. Ford as OT3 scares me. OT4 seemed beyond Rivers. Cochran, Kirkland, Stueber, and Coker are all fring roster/PS level guys.

OG: Fairchild looks good. The best of our draft picks, by far. With respect to Carter. Risner's pass probgrade is almost double Cappa's (39.7 to 76.2) with a slightly better run block grade. Ford, Rivers, Patrick, and Volson provide depth. Ford is also OT3. If Rivers is guard only, then there is not room for Patrick & Volson. Unless Patrick is C2.

C: Karras and Lee are back. McLaughlin an interesting UDFA add. Lee is back. Raym a PS guy. Patrick has C experience. Volson even took some snaps there.

I think we improved everywhere but OT in terms of the depth chart. And better health and Mims in year 2 may do that for us there.

In looking at PFF scores, Coker had very good pass blocking scores. Cochran was over 70 as well. 4 of 5 starters on OL were about 75% with 3 over 80%. Maybe we do have decent backup tackles on the roster.

Any idea when he's supposed to actually visit so I can waste my time hitting F5 waiting for the inevitable signing or leaving without a deal news?

I'm sure hoping we get him if for no other reason than depth.

The dude obviously wants to play here, and the season is about to start and he is still unsigned. I predict he signs today.

Get it done.

Starters: OBJ, Fairchild, Karras, Risner, Mims
Reserves:
Ford (RT, LT, RG, LG)
Patrick (LG, RG, C)
Rivers (RG, LG, maybe OT?)

That is 8. Probably need another OT assuming Rivers is no go at OT. And another C (Lee/McLaughlin) assuming Patrick isn't C2. Hard to see spots for Volson AND Patrick if Risner signs.
