Bengals to host Dalton Risner on a FA visit

We currently have 2 rookie guards practicing with the 1’s. They need to sign Risner immediately.

Problem is he is visiting with other teams so it will be a few days at the earliest. Cry

This is a VERY good point. I’m sure Dalton Risner had all of his team visits lined up long before he came to Cincinnati yesterday. Just remember Noah Fant didn’t sign here during his visit either — but eventually he did.

But now he like the lone guy left  before real cuts, so supply and demand, he is in a better position now than before plus I read some comments that he overvalued himself in early FA

Glad you know everything  behind the scenes. Also how is Fant a d Patrick low ball?? They accepted offer , maybe we actually offered more than others..

That is how it works. I wish some of us were right and we could just make sure he couldn't leave, but that isn't how it works.

I think Risner might be even more likely to sign with us after his others visits than Fant was. Risner said he wanted to be here to block for
Burrow early on in the offseason. Might have to anti up his contract a bit though, but he is worth it and we need him with the injuries.

I like Rivers, but we cannot have 2 rookies starting on the OL. Fairchild has impressed and has won the LG spot so good for him, but we
need another vet and Risner is perfect for the job.

Any word on what Patrick's injury is?

He def grabbed his chest/shoulder area on back to back plays and was looking to the sideline after the 2nd time.

Good question...

They could pick up the phone and call Scherff.  See if he is really retired or has another season in him.

I suspected as much (injury). IMHO, undisclosed/imminent injuries are the leading cause of mysterious production drop offs.

I wasn't saying they necessarily low balled Patrick and Fant. But let's just be honest with ourselves and take the fandom glasses off. People saw Patrick's deal and said whew they are giving him backup money they must expect to be a backup but no they expected him to start with that money. Fant 2.75 with incentives to raise it to 4mil is significantly less than the 2yrs 21mil he had last signed. While yes people may say see there strategy works but we didn't need Fant, we could afford to let him go elsewhere. But I really just pointed out those contracts as an example of the kind of money we are expecting to sign in FA. Its on par with what he has been making but if he asked for 5mil is that the hold up?

They could, but they aren't offering the type of money that would convince someone to give it another go.

Dalton's asking price may rise. Kaleb McGary was carted off in ATL today
