Bengals to host Dalton Risner on a FA visit
So Cordell Volson might be out for the year?

Call Risner back and offer to pay for a first class flight

Yes I just saw that as well. Need to call him back and meet his asking price today. If we do sign him he could legitimately be asked to start week 1.

No he wasn't. Not.even.close.

If we consider "good" to be him keeping his man from getting a pressure or sack on pass sets and keeping his man from being in on the tackle on run plays, out of 16 snaps, he was "good" on 12 of them.

If Goodberry is that wrong about something so easy to see and disprove, maybe you shouldn't be listening to Goodberry. This has to be one of the biggest loads of BS i've seen recently.

Interesting same people who thought Volson should be cut, now thing we are in dire need because hegot hurt and is done for the year?

I want Risner and had Volson on my cut list in the one thread with no Risner. Of course, I have us cutting Ford as well without Risner.

On to 2025, let's save the drama for the off season.

Who wanted Volson cut?

No one wants him to be the starter. But he was an OK depth option.

Yes, I went back today and rewatched our OL. McLaughlin , Patrick and Coker were 3 I fouced on. All 3 did better than I thought watching them live. Rivers had some bad plays, but he also had some very good RB plays. Rivers gave up the sack, but it was on Browning anda coverage sack in my opinion.

I was actually encouraged watching our back ups. Based on this I think Bengals have to keep McLaughlin on the 53, may mean Lee is odd man out ot the keep 3 centers and work with one of two to backup guard position.

Trust me, some have clamoring for Volson to be cut since last year. He also got a huge raise due to PT the last 3 years so that made he a bigger cut candidate in the minds of many.

I wanted to cut him in spring and replace him with Teven Jenkins (who signed  with the Browns); dude isn’t  a good NFL player.

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

TY and not knocking your opinion. I like him a lot more at 900K than I did at over 3 million for 2025 do to the raise the NFL gave him for PT over last 3 years.

Dealing with some of the nonsense on here, it's not exhausting as much as exacerbating.

Exacerbating what?

According to Bengals.com, Patrick graded very high against Washington in the run game. I don't have PFF so I can't see the number. But he is supposed to be better in pass protection than the run, is he not?

Whoa, have to bring back Risner now and give him a better deal. As much as some on here hated Volson I thought he could be decent depth.

Thanks, I saw the same thing you saw so wasn't understanding what Goodberry and Stewy saw there. Patrick may not be great, but he is good
depth and good competition if he can stay healthy. Problem is he cannot stay healthy and with the injuries we have to bring in Risner at the very
least especially with Volson out the entire year.

Same criteria as before.

He played 21 snaps and was positive on 17 of them.

He took his guy to the ground on the 2nd Burrow sack and that was when he first grabbed his shoulder/chest. Stayed in one more snap before grabbing it again and coming out.

That's 75% positive PS1
and 81% positive PS2

You can argue how he "looked" on some of the reps, but if his guy didn't cause a pressure or sack, or wasn't in on the tackle on run reps, that's not negative.

Ehhhhhhhh. Not so much, for me at least.

He's an ok depth option if that's all he ever is. Once he gets in, he's a "starter" (for however long that is) and it's the same ole Volson.

I got no probs with him being cut.
