He's a guy heading into his age 32 season who signed for 1yr/$2.1m which makes him the 57th highest paid G in the NFL in 2025. If he were as great as just the sack numbers suggest, he would have signed for both more years and money. This is a league that is desperate for linemen, one where Alex Cappa was terrible and still got 2yr/$11m.

To me he's basically another John Jerry... or maybe an older XSF.

He's another half-measure.  Another body in position group filled with players who are just dudes.  People can lie, but any above average performance by a guard currently on the roster will be something of a surprise.  A welcome one, but still a surprise.

The truth is that the team is betting on new coaching and draft picks to patch the OL by, they as usual, did the very least they could do to fill an open spot after cutting Cappa. Hell, I know that Patrick has to be a smart guy, he played and graduated from Duke Univ. I'm hoping for the best out of him, just not expecting anything spectacular.

Of course I understand your points as usual Sunset. I just don't find a reason to hate on the Patrick signing as much as the FO for not going all out.

Patrick is a career backup with a ton of starter time and being very good in pass protection in his time starting. He was also behind really good OL.

I wanted to go more all out for sure as well, but there is a reason Risner and Scherff still aren't signed by anybody.

Also, we know that Hernandez is coming off of a bad injury and still isn't 100%.

They better start valuing IOL. The Chiefs sure did for Mahomes and it got them multiple SB's over the last 5 years. I think we are upgraded but Lucas
Patrick's biggest concern to me is still the ability to stay healthy more so then play on the field and he just got banged up again with us. Granted he is 
back practicing already but this is a big concern. Really love the Dylan Fairchild pick but we have to be honest and tell the truth, he is still a rookie.

I understand you guys a bit for sure, but I think we are upgraded as long as the new guys stay healthy.

In the meantime I think the FO is still trying to get the Trey and Shemar deals done which neither have been done the right way or they would of 
been done already and we would know how much money we have to spend. Even if I blame Trey's agent the most in his situation.
