Around this time each year I do a series of polls where we rank our position groups against others. I generally try to go starter plus the same number of backups. Example 1 QB starter 1 QB backup, 2 DEs starters, 2 DE backups.
We’ll start this year with the JBs.
Fun Fact: 2 NFL teams currently have top 5 overall draft picks as their starter and backup QB. Can you name them without reviewing the list?
So, where we got Joe and Jake v. the rest? As always, the competition:

Burrow is the best QB after last year and Browning proved to be a decent backup when Burrow went down a couple years back.
I voted 1.

You watched a multi-time MVP QB go to his 7th AFCC game and 5th SB in in his 7 years of starting and that was your takeaway?
Burrow is great and I voted 2-3, but regardless of how you feel about him all Mahomes does is win.

I believe they are as good at QB as anyone but I voted 2-3.
Although, I am now second guessing myself that maybe I should have voted them #1.
There are a couple of guys on Burrow’s level that can be argued as the best QB in the league but what Browning showed in 2023 really puts them at or near the top.

Lamar Jackson and Joe burrow are fairly close, but I think Rush is better than Jake Browning so I voted two to three.

This is where I'm at. I would put Lamar and Rush over Joe and Jake. I would also put Joe and Rish over Lamar and Jake.
The coolthing is which room is the worst in the NFL, Cleve and Pit have to receive some votes.

Did you see how he handled the Eagles pressure in first half of the Super Bowl vs How Burrow handled the pressure against the Broncos a few weeks earlier?

Even how Burrow handled the Eagles pressure when he played them before the wheels fell off was extremely impressive. Yeah, Burrow is
better than Mahomes with not even close to the help Mahomes has. Mahomes has a better interior OL, a better running game, better play
calling and a better Defense with help from the refs.
Burrow has better weapons in the passing game and better OT's when healthy but that is about it.

1 - Burrow is the best and Browning a more than competent backup - that makes the vote easy

Without a criteria, ranking is difficult in general for any position. In this specific situation, it is a bit easier, given that we have one of the best.
But still even general parameters around ability and availability are needed to separate those in the top-5.
With that said, I was a firm believer that Carson was a better QB than Rothlisberger, although Ben was a winner. I feel the same as related to Burrow vs Jackson.
I feel that Mahomes is slightly above Burrow, simply due to being more seasoned with big game experience. Aside from that, when adjusting for a better defense in KC, I feel they are equal.
My vote is #2. But only for Burrow. Don't know how to rank backups and worse yet, how to adjust the QB1 ranking to get to a combined ranking.

The thing about Lamar is he still has lots of trouble winning in the Playoffs. If we get in with Burrow I think we can win it all.

The Super Bowl, where Mahomes was for the 5th time in 7 years.
Also weird you point at Mahomes vs Eagles and then Burrow vs Broncos (who got crushed by the Bills 7-31)... but Burrow also played the Eagles and lost 17-37. Beating a team in OT that gets boatraced in the wildcard round isn't more impressive than going to the SB yet again.

All I know is if Burrow in 7 years of starting had been to the AFCC 7 times, the SB 5 times, and won the SB 3 times, with 2 MVPs... we'd mercilessly mock KC fans if they tried to say their QB who has been to the playoffs in just 2/5 seasons (and neither of the last two), never won a SB, and never won an MVP was better.
We'd be talking about how Burrow was going to pass Brady for the GoaT mantle and would hear no possible arguments that he isn't #1 in the NFL right now.

Homer vote by me by putting him #1. By season's end, if Mahomes wins another Super Bowl, or Allen or Jackson wins it all, then I'll put Joey B. in the 2-4 range.

I know you were arguing with J24 TLL, but Mahomes was like a mid-tier QB last year. It is a what have you done lately league.
Joe, Lamar along with maybe Goff and Allen were the best QB's last season.
Mahomes benefits from so much along with great coaching that Joe simply does not have.

When dealing with heavy pressure Mahomes did not play well for the first 3 quarters of the Superbowl. Similarly when Burrow was pressured heavily against the Broncos(who Mahomes also played mediocre against and needed to be bailed out by a blocked field goal) (where he got sacked 6 times and hit 15 times),he threw for 419 yards, 3 Tds, and 79.6 %. I honestly do not think there is another QB that can play at that level with the pressure he received that night including Mahomes.
On top that Burrow had an MVP quality season leading the NFL in passing Yards and TD passes. Their isn't a player that elevates the players around him more than Burrow does and their isnt a QB in this league that would be as productive with this current offensive line as Burrow is.
