I get that for sure. Just hope we have his offer closer to those guys now so it is easier for him to sign. Trey isn't as good of a run stopper as
Twatt so I think Danielle Hunter is the End who's contract we need to be the closest to IMO.

Run stopper from the right side is a bit overrated. Certainly, Trey isn't quite as good as some others but this is recently being brought up as some knock on his worth. The guy gets to the QB on par with the best in the biz. If he's a little lax in the run...so what? It's not like he's a sieve over there, just a little less than some others and he makes up for it with how he tortures NFL QBs. 

And he's already in the building!!!!!! 

Oh...and his tackle numbers have gone up for 3 straight years.

I just hope we can afford it. I don't know the specifics and want Trey extended as much as anybody. But to extend Ja'Marr to the biggest non-QB
contract ever while extending Tee and others is a lot to pull off. If we do it I will be surprised, never thought all 3 would be here extended.

Will be very happy if it goes down like this.

Another good point. Sunset has been showing that Trey isn't as bad of a run stopper as others have insinuated as well. He gets his TFL in 
the run game and he is tackling better late in his career as you show with his numbers going up. Get it done baby and get Risner back in

Bengals intentionally did that when they didn't need to.

So if the Bengals operated like a real NFL team that were actually interested in fitting as much talent onto our team as we could rather than intentionally inflating our cap hits currently... just our WRs would have given us ~$32m more cap space this year to go with our current $30m. 

There's no way we could have ever improved our defense with $62m in cap space and a real FO whose primary intention was winning a SB.

It all depends. Who are the 3-4 positions, and who's the one guy? Without Trey this defense is worse than what it was last year by far. Even if we got 3-4 slight upgrades on defense but lose EASILY the best defensive player we have it's a worse defense. Trey had basically half the sacks last year. I couldn't even imagine how bad this defense would be without him.

Yep. They're still stuck in 'total contract' mode. Looking at the future as being equal to right now. 

If i had to wager, i bet a good number of these FO backers are in 'win now' mode as well. They just want to argue against any "FO poo poo" points, which are all valid. 

Seriously, what Bengals fan doesn't want to win now with Burrow and Co in their prime? The FO isn't thinking that way though.

On the plus side, if we don't have Trey and this defense is as bad as we fear we can at least watch Burrow throw for like 6000 yards and 60 TDs.
