Yes, it's a big deal. Which is why I stated the above. It would be horrible to penalize every kicker in the league for something 1 man is able to do.
It wouldn't be just because of this kid. It's been brought up a bit over the last two years.
3 different teams made at least one 60+ yard FG last year.
26 different teams made at least one 55+ yard FG last year.
All 32 teams made at least one 50 yard FG last year.
4 teams made at least 10 FGs of 50+ yards.
21 teams made at least 5 FGs of 50+ yards.
Go back 10 years to 2014...
0 teams made a FG of 60+ yards.
12 different teams made at least one 55+ yard FG.
29 different teams made at least one 50 yard FG.
0 teams made at least 10 FGs of 50+ yards.
7 teams made at least 5 FGs of 50+ yards.
They went from 0.2 made 50+ yard FGs per game to 0.4, doubling in frequency. 2011 was the first year it reached 0.2, too. So it's actually
quadrupled in frequency in the last 14 years.

Combine that with the ball often starting on the 30 now and it's too damn easy to get in FG range now. They either need to move the post back 5 yards to the wall, or they need to make the uprights more narrow.
