I know Gesicki is out, but sure seems like Fant and Burrow are finding a lot earlier rythym than Burrow and Gesicki did in 2024.
Great to see Battle do something, I think he is average, but hope he shocks me.
Today's work was inside bubble, ZT said back outside tomorrow. Also saw DJ Hill in drill going against Slayton so hopefully he is progressing and ready week 1.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

If he handles that job well, it opens things up to move Lee to Guard
Moving Karras to guard is about our only move without bringing in someone.
Why? Karras has exp. at guard in the NFL and is the one most likely to be able to make the transition from center to guard fastest over either Lee or McLaughlin.

Oh yeah, they signed him for a reason. Between Brown, Perine and Brooks the Bengals should have the most talented, yet underused backfield rotation in the league.

Tanner Hudson's grandmother died the night of the Philly game...on the 5 year anniversary of her son, Tanner's father's death. Her funeral was Monday...even though it was only a meeting day, Tanner made the decision, with family support, to stay in camp

Somehow I picture Trey working out in a parking lot, pushing a car in 5 yard bursts to simulate driving the OT into the QBs lap.

You're right; however, IIRC, Karras came to Cincinnati explicitly because we would play him at center and not guard. So he may not be interested in switchin gpositions even if the better option were him at guard and someone else at center.

I think Burrow would not be happy because he communicates with Ted pre-snap about what he's seeing on defense. Lee can't replace that experience.

Gesicki, Burton, Cam Sample, and Cochran are all on the rehab field
Orlando Brown is not at practice. I’m sure we will find out more after practice

I don't think they will be underused especially with Burrow and the WR core they have which naturally will be pass heavy, i expect less empty and more single back formations where that RB will be used in passing game or become the extra blocker needed with a avg. line for some protection.

plus he has done just fine with his snaps, and this is their 4th year together which like you stated there is a greaet communication relationship there.

Speaking of guards…I continue to be unimpressed with Lucas Patrick. Some of the homers were really touting his pass protection when we signed him, but he is constantly getting beat in the a lot of the clips from camp. Just saw one from today of Slaton beating him for what would have been a sack in a game.

Yeah, several regulars pooh-poohed me for calling Patrick what he is, a career backup whose never grabbed a starting job and held it. I guess now we just hope for Rivers to get a shot and hope that he translates well to playing inside.
