That pretty much sums up the Reds season and why they are behind Chicago, Milwaukee and St Louis in the standings.  They haven’t made any progress hitting with men in scoring position all year.

Welp...like i said before. You can't go on a nice little streak to get back to .500 and proceed to drop a few...so that you can go on a little streak to get back to .500, only to drop a few. Gotta stay away from these losing streaks. They just crush anything positive you do because you're still net even +/- a game or two...

Cardinals and Brewers series are always so deflating.

Yep, one step forward and two steps back. They just can't maintain any kind of long-term momentum.

My prediction was 5 days off.

Still, incredibly exciting! He has been nothing short of dominant for the entire year in the minor leagues. I really hope he has a good debut. I'm not expecting 6 innings of shutout baseball or anything, but if he could keep it within the realm of a quality start (4.50 ERA if he doesn't make it to 6 innings as part of a pitch count) I'd call that a major win.

A tough assignment for him but I'm good with it. Yanks are 4th in MLB in runs scored and have this guy who's pretty good named Judge.

Are we thinking Martinez is injured or just struggling? I'm. bit surprised that they called Burns up this early. I'd think they would roll with bullpen games until someone got healthy if it were a matter of weeks.

Pitchers in baseball and DBs in football. You can never have too many.

Really nothing to do with Martinez. Don't know when Greene will be back and Miley's career could be over. Can't afford doing a bullpen day every 5th game especially when the bullpen gets used quite a bit already. In other news Hampson was DFA'D and Hinds called back up.

McLain gives Abbott an early 1-0 lead.

God, do I love good baseball

Great balance on Elly's opposite field double.
TEAM baseball with the ground ball by Stephenson to 2nd base to move Elly to third.
Elly scores on the fair ground ball with most people not being able to score on that.

A fair ball on the ground by Lux with one out and a runner on third. Not a pop-up and not a strike out. Good baseball.

Oh, and Andrew Abbott being Andrew Abbott

They stopped the bleeding, good. Now the Yankees at home. Perhaps they can pull off a sweep again like last season. One can dream, right?

Reds Fans get to see Aaron Judge and the Yankees.  It should fill GABP as we get closer to 4th of July.  Aaron Judge on pace for another 60 home run type season, a modern day Babe Ruth.  All he does is jack around 60 homers every year.  Reds fans can also see De La Cruz and both are All-Star players.  I hope Reds fill the stands and make a lot of money off this series, money they can have going forward in off season.  I don't care if they are Yankee Fans, I want to see GABP filled and money coming in for Reds to have this off season, and filled stands will be a great series for Reds right there.  Yankees might be playing on Halloween, but I doubt Reds will be, so now is the time for Reds to make some money at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. I would think many will come to see The Yankees and Aaron Judge, and many Yankee Fans may show up also. The Reds will never have the money the Yankees have, but maybe this series in Cincinnati, the Reds can grab some Yankees money for themselves in ticket sales and items sold at the ball park.  The Circus is in Town. As hot as it is, it could be a lot of homers this series in Great American SMALL Park, where baseballs fly out in hot weather heading for Ohio River and Kentucky.  Like the sports guy for Ron Burgundy, it could be WHAMY, WHAMY, WHAMY, WHAMY for fans who like to see Home Runs.

Seems they are shifting Martinez to the BP.
Lodolo, Abbott, and Singer all are pitching better than Martinez.
Burns is getting the call-up to see if he's ready for the bigs, but if he is, he'll take one of the rotation spots and Greene will take the last once back.
Sucks the Reds are paying a potential non-closer RP $21 mill this year, but he's basically just on loan while the young guys come up. I don't expect Martinez back next year. Heck, they may try to move him by the deadline.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
