This organization royally ****** this up. Like they do every personel situation.
That’s VERY dramatic, and over the top.

Fair enough, if we call him a starter. I guess for a few weeks

You didn’t say starter though, you said active.

If this team were to trade Trey to the Browns in a win now year then I might just finally give up.

This is for a contending team, like the rams to flip what would seem like a late first and a young player.
2025 and 2026 first are not apples to apples.
At the time they wanted a 2025 1st, the teams knew exactly where that pick was.
A 2026 1st is yet to be determined by finish of the season.
It's impossible to say that a 2026 1st is worth less. Rams might think they're contenders and have the QB get hurt and finish with the 5th pick in the draft.

I think we fans think it's a win now season. I don't know the Bengals think that.
They've put a little paint around the trim of the windows and mowed the lawn, but the foundation is still cracked on defense.

They may not want to do that, but every team could if they wanted Trey that bad. They could view Trey's money would also be offset by the no 1st round pick in 2026 money as well makin it a little easier to swallow.
Points taken. Teams that want to make cap space could.

They should have signed him to a similar structure to Miles and Watt, but at a slightly lower rate. They have the money, they're just stubborn assholes that don't want to guarantee year 3 (and who knows, maybe year 2 as well).
They're not remotely serious about winning a championship the way it NEEDS to be done. They want to do it their own hard-ass way and they're going to fail for eternity.

Trey's agent is a dumbass, said it since he had Trey ask for an extension when it wasn't even possible.
The Bengals are wrong too, but they paid Ja'Marr, Tee, BJ Hill, Mike G and others. Sucks for Trey and the Bengals if he sits out because
they cannot get a deal done because of an idiot agent and the Bengals FO being too damn stubborn. Trey should be paid right under what
Twatt got. No one is giving a 1st rounder and a good Defensive player for Trey.
The Bengals still hold the cards though and it is stupid to play hard ball with the stubborn buggers.

The best scenario is to just pay the man his damn money.

As long as we're having fun. How about Trey and Geno Stone to the Lions for Brian Branch and a 2nd round pick?

I mean Tee showed Trey what to do if he isn't happy with his representative. Is it the agent or Trey that's a dumbass?

I don't think he is unhappy with his agent.
I think he wants to be paid in the neighborhood of his peers with terms comparable to them.
The Bengals don't want to give it to him. They apparently consider the risk too high and the reward too low.
You either want to win now or not. And I think they do, but not tat the cost they would have to pay. And there is a risk, but I'd say the reward - at least over the last two years - is good enough to pay for.
And again, it underscores their poor planning and assessment of the situation. They apparently thought they could have him if they strung it out. And they finally made the concessions that were their bottom line and were surprised that they did not meet his bottom line.
If they had done this right after the Super Bowl their bottom line might have been enough. I don't think he was the one that wanted to see how the market broke.
They have a long history of dragging things out to what they believe is going to break the will of the player. And in our current environment that does not appear to work well. We got lucky with Tee.
