I really hope Pratt isn’t going to be here. Curious, why Grandy over Hudson? Will McLaughlin land on the PUP or IL for the year? That guy was an amazing UDFA signing and I’m saying that as an anti-Buckeye fan. I still think a vet free agent OG is signed and Volson is shown the door.

There is no chance hs is going to be here. Hell he might even get released today.

Right, Pratt is as good as gone. And I'd say there's also a good chance they release Volson so they can up Trey's contract.

I see Pratt definitely gone. I think strong possibility if Volson does not win a starting job we trade him. He is young and has started in the NFL and does have some value. Pratt's contract will force Bengals to cut him.

I would add CB Wilson

So you think Jordan Battle will be cut and Myles Murphy will be traded for a mid to late rounder? I would say there is 0% chance of either happening. Also, Battle is a better athlete than Geno Stone.
I told everybody here that Stone was an awful signing, same with Rankins.
Now I do agree they HAVE to sign possible starters at safety and OG. If not, this team is worse than last year and we are just spending money to keep the fanbase that's already in place(the Tee signing makes us no better).

I like the fact they drafted two linebackers, Pratt is 100% gone. And they wont be stretched as thin in Goldens defense.
Hopefully the coverages are simplified so our guys can just play.
If that happens and we get some development out of Shemar and Murphy, and the two second year DTs, then we could be dangerous.

Volson will be on the team until the end of training camp and then end up on the PS

All hopes turn to next year

Yeah there’s no way they give up on Murphy this soon. Also I can’t see Battle being cut - he has experience at probably the weakest position group on a the roster and doesn’t make much money. Would be dumb to cut him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Volson and Pratt go through TC, to see if they have anything at all with the new coaches, and then (possibly) put Volson on PS and cut Pratt. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Volson outright cut as well.

How do you guys figure the options are either starting or not even on the team? Like if they're in the mix to start, why would the team turn around and get rid of them?

Battle has liabilities in coverage and is only a box safety.  I picked Stone over him because he has had success in as a 2 deep Safety in 3 safety sets during his time in Baltimore.

As for Murphy he needs to have a great preseason to stay here and if not he will be on thr chopping block. Maybe the Bengals keep him as 6 DE who doesn't dress on GameDay but that seems worse than trading him.  For both parties; hopefully the Bengals do the right thing if it comes down to it.

If Sample is healthy then he is better player and I personally think Cedric Johnson is already a better player than him. If the Bengals are being honest with themselves then it would be tough to keep Murphy.

Well, it's not like they don't already have a lot of film on him now. He certainly hasn't helped his case here with this mouth and missed tackles the last couple years. Sayonara PlayoffP.

I don’t think anyone wants to entertain the thought that he might be starting again. Hopefully the coaches feel the same way.

I’m concerned about the guards. Wish we’d sign Scherff or Risner.

Sure why not.

I assume that we may try to hide a player or two on IR and Seth McLaughlin will likely start on IR as well.

There will be a real pre-season competition between Perine and Zack Moss, which Perine will win. Moss will be cut despite just having had his guaranteed money increased $500k.

Offense = 24

QB (2): Burrow, Browning
RB (3): Brown, Perine, Brooks
WR (6): Chase, Higgins, Iosivas, Jones, Williams, Burton
TE (3): Gesicki, Sample, Grandy
OT (4): Brown, Mims, Cochran, Rivers
G (4): Ford, Patrick, Volson, Fairchild
C (2): Karras, Lee
----------------

We'll keep 6 corners. Jalen Davis and Marco Wilson will fight for that final spot with Davis winning. Howard Cross III makes the roster. Also I think Carter's height and weight is similar enough to Njongmeta that 'Meta ends up back on the practice squad and we keep Shaka Heyward.

Defense = 26
DE (6): Hendrickson, Ossai, Murphy, Johnson, Stewart, Sample
DT (5): Hill, Slaton, Jenkins, Jackson, Cross III
LB (5): Wilson, Burks, Heyward, Knight, Carter
CB (6): CTB, Hill, Turner, Newton, Ivey, Davis
S (4): Stone, Battle, Anderson, Anthony

Everybody keeps penciling in Adomitis as the long snapper. Did you notice that they brought in competition for him among the UDFAs. William Wagner from Michigan was the #1 rated ls in this years draft. Darrin Simmons, in interviews, did strongly imply that some of McPherson’s issues last season happened due to bad snaps. I could see Cal being a surprise cut

Kirkland?
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.
