You also can’t dismiss the fact that the Bengals lost their starting CBs and their best LB last year so them being healthy will improve the defense. They weren’t great with them but they definitely raise the talent level of the defense. They also have a true run stopping tackle and more young talent at LB that should help them improve vs the run.
I am not blown away by the draft but the Bengals should be better at guard and they have a set of skill position players that almost every other team would love to have.
I would say their drafting has been average, not good and not horrible when compared to the rest of the NFL. The problem is we have 2 of the best drafting teams in the NFL in our division, Ravens and Steelers. We have 2 of the best HC in football we have to play 2x a year, Tomlin and Harbaugh.
Look around the NFL, few teams have long term stud coaches in their division

CTB took a giant step back, they still dont have a TE better than Drew Sample (that is embarassing), and Jordan Battle has shown what outside of his rookie year? Are we really expecting Myles Murphy to take a giant leap forward into becoming an average player at best? There's a giant hole at the Guard position still
But im sure all of this will fly over your head and you will spout whatever Hobson or Dehner sells you
Volson will not be starting, and neither will CTB unless he gets his crap together. Thanks for making my point. I don't think Murphy is going to take any great strides, that's why they took Stewart. And Fairchild is going to be far better than any of the guards we had last year.

Baltimore took yet another safety in the 1st round because they’re tired of watching Chase go crazy on them. Graham, Green, and Harmon all went inside the division. And our answer at guard was a 3rd round pick and a career backup in Lucas Patrick.
Baltimore took another safety. Who cares. Chase will go crazy on that rookie as well.

Both you and Luvinit clearly didn’t get the point. No one is saying their new safety will come in and shut Chase down. What I said was a few of you act like things outside of the Bengals stayed static. Other teams improved their already strong rosters. And attacked weaknesses with high picks. If you feel what the Bengals added in the draft and FA is enough to keep up with that - cool. Many of us don’t.

Outside of a few big-name college players, I really do not pay any attention to what other teams are doing. I pay attention to what the Bengals are doing. To me, they addressed every weakness they had last year.

I understand the point you ARE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE. The problem is you want to show one good thing the Ravens did and ignore their entire off season. I bolded the starters they lost. They lost 2 starting CB's and a backup CB and added 1 new CB. How is that improving?
The Steelers lost 2 QB's. starter and backup. If Bengals did this and did not draft a QB until round 6, the JN board would be on suicide alert.

I don’t see how they improved their interior pass rush, which was tied with guard for the biggest issue on the team last season.

That is because Rankins didn't work out for what ever reasons. Rankins was supposed to be a good interior pass rusher, but he sucked and
then got sick. What they didn't address was NT after Reader left, McKinnley Jackson could be a NT, but you don't rely on a rookie to be a
starter for you right away, let alone try and replace a NT with a 3-tech in Rankins. Was just stupid honestly.

Yep, it was a horrible plan and it cost us big time in 2024.

There are multiple ways to get an interior pass rush without a great pass rushing DT especially on pure passing downs (8-10 yards or more on 3rd or 4th down or when we know a team has to pass to catch up)
LB blitzes up the middle.
I can also see Bengals slide Ossai and Stewart inside as Stewart has done it already.
Golden could dial up:
Trey and Murphy outside with Hill and Ossai inside
Trey and Osaai outside with Stewart and Hill inside
Or my favorite
Trey and Murphy outside with Ossai and Stewart inside
I will be watching the different schemes Golden uses and if he does some untraditional things as well?

Well, the other teams are winning Super Bowls and the Bengals are not.
