It's more than they ate on cutting The Moose, but not by much. The only good news is they don't also have The Votto contract as they did with The Moose.
If Reds are paying Candelario, some team can pick him up on the cheap. A last place small market team wouldn't even have to pay him.
Reds will not add somebody to replace a guy they are still paying mega bucks. Terry Francona and Reds say they are happy with who they have now to play Third and First and were not impressed with Candelario.
My hope is someday Reds become more like Tampa Rays who would never pay out money like Reds did to Moose or Candle.
I could be wrong, but couldn't Bengals pay Hendrickson to play for them at about same amount Reds will pay Candelario not to play for them ??? Unlike Reds who feel they have better Third ad First Base players, The Bengals would be weak on D Line with their dominate pass rusher.
