Forget the 0 super bowl wins, The endless botched draft picks, The myriad of 10+ loss seasons
And Generally being regarded as one of the most incompetent and poorly run pro sports franchises in the world.....
What they are doing right now is truly remarkable.
- Hendrickson multi year contract saga
- Drafting 2 First Round DEs in the span of 24 months who cant sack the QB
- Shamar Stewart Saga
- Inability to work with the city on the stadium lease - Deadlocked
- Current Cap Space of 31.9 Mll (9th most in the NFL as of today)
This team continues to be an absolute embarrassment for the fans and people of Cincinnati. They are the same level of ineptitude as the Reds

Let it go man. This "IS" the Bengals way. Maybe change teams or stop being a fan if you can't take it. I gave up Sunday Ticket after 27 or so years because watching the games raises my blood pressure. I'm now down to watching the games on replay if they win & not watch the losses. If I was 20 years old it would be different.

So you decided to come on here and announce loud and proud that you are a Bengals fan forever?
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I don't get:
All this handwringing over guaranteed money but then exercise franchise tags and 5th year options.
Tee guaranteed 26.2M before extension raised it to 35Mish; Dax Hill guaranteed 12.6M on day 1 of 2026 camp. (Spotrac says 9.3M, but that's because they list him as a safety)

I hated the stewart pick...but he has never shown any character concerns.
Just because of Henry Ruggs and others, that does not mean Stewart gets to be the first bengal to have to eat this language.
They did not do it for Murphy and Mims.

Well folks swore the ugly offseason last offseason wasn't a distraction and was media driven and wouldn't spill into the season and .... well.....
I'm afraid some have lost creditability around here. Go with your gut feeling. This offseason outside of the Chase/Tee deals has been a mess. FA/Draft/Keeping players who performed poorly who we were sure were gone (not named Pratt).
The only reason this offseason isn't a F- is because of the Chase / Tee deals. And the agent had to threaten them with losing Chase to get that done.

Your obsession w Pratt is certainly odd. He was categorically awful all season

So was Stone. So was everyone on D outside of Trey. That's what that shot was regarding.
I don't care about Pratt. I care about having playmakers on defense who can step up in big games. I've been clear. I am not interested in the Dalton/Palmer era of having stars who melt under pressure.
The team and players have talked all week about Pratt saying the same things I said so I don't have to make that argument. And that was never my argument. My argument has always about having big game players.
I'm trying to revive this lame thread and this the thanks I get.
Your obsession with slamming this team is odd.

While it’s very easy to be upset when we see other franchises go through dynasties and we just want 1. Sometimes I think it’s lost that this is a for profit business. In the end, it’s business and they want to make the most profit. They are going to handle their finances as they see fit. Sucks for us. But it is what it is.

Honestly, I wish more people would try this.
It's ok to not be as heavily invested in a team/sport and still be considered a fan.
I've overall enjoyed football and life better when preferring to just watch when the season outcome seems bright and not caring so much to watch if the season is going poorly.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Rashee Rice happened last year so I think that has a lot to do with it. Teams are getting tired of having these rookies get these multi million dollar contracts then go out and drive 120 miles an hours on public roads injuring people and other crap like slapping their girlfriends around. No NFL team should be forced to guarantee contracts for guys that behave like that. Stewart saying the Bengals are more worried about winning an argument. No, they are more worried about investing millions of dollars into a rookie that acts like a complete a@@clown off the field and being forced to deal with that guy and his contract for 4 years. I'm wondering if Stewart has some issue we haven't heard about yet that he is worried might come up at some point.

I stopped watching college football and researching players. We have drafted so poorly that I can’t even watch it anymore. Every year it’s the same thing, hope for this or that player only to see a team jump right in front of us for him. It’s so damn frustrating. We need a better poker face? It’s a shame cause the draft is like my Christmas which is crazy cause I’m not the one receiving presents in millions.
It’s already getting hard to watch with the way the rules are setup. Throw this franchise in the mix and it’s been pretty brutal the majority of the time. I’m sure a deal with Trey will get done soon. The rook, can care less.

Rice was a second round selection.

I’ll take ‘slamming’ one of the most pathetic sports franchises of all time
Vs obsessing over one of the worst LBs In the nfl.
Also pratt was not a ‘big game player’. ? he was awful

Everything in the media is coming from his camp. The more I think about it, the more I say **** him. The organization is stupid AF to draft this idiot, but **** him. I don't care if he ever suits up, and I already can't stand him. I hope he never signs at this point.

Just hope players aren't getting tired of having their rights drafted away and then forced to sign an artificially lowered value slotted value contract rather than go to the workplace of their choice after an open market bidding war for their services.
-Sam Bradford got a 6yr/$78m (but it wasn't all guaranteed) as a rookie 1st overall pick and was (theoretically) able to get a raise/extension after 1 year.
-Then 10 years later Joe Burrow got 4yr/$36.2m (fully guaranteed) as a rookie 1st overall pick and couldn't get a raise/extension until he finished 3 years in the league.
He led the Bengals to the Super Bowl and then proceeded to make $3.9m in 2022 because of the artificial suppression and he also artificially wasn't allowed to get more money yet.
Don't rock the boat too hard on your cushy deal of vastly underpaying high end talent for the first few years of their career. The price of that is 1st round picks getting guaranteed deals. Once you get greedy and want to take even more from them, that road leads to labor disputes.

Yeah...I mean the average person is happy to make $100k a year. These guys get millions and there's some wording in a contract they won't sign.
Don't get me wrong, I dont like how the Bengals negotiate sometimes, but if other teams have the wording...we should.

Lol, you say this about him. Another poster says that about Hendrickson.
Weird how the Bengals keep getting surrounded by problems, who knows WHY it happens. You know how the saying goes: "If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day.... there's a strangely large amount of assholes around you, weird."

I think the NFLPA had a hand in negotiating that as it took money from veterans. The veterans are who make up the unions.
