One thing I do like about Stewart is that everyone says he plays hard. That’s important and paired with his natural talent it really makes me think they may have something here.

I do think he’s Treys replacement starting next season.
If they do take a G and a S today then I think both will have a much greater chance of starting then Stewart will. I can see him being a rotational piece to start the season but the guard or safety should be able to beat out the guys they have now in TC.

I think everyone can agree that Chase was a hit.  Mims, based on his rookie season, is trending that way.

Dax is a tough one to handicap because his development has been stunted by injury and position changes, but he did look good once they moved him to outside CB last year.

Murphy is the only real guy I can say is a high RAS disappointing that doesn't have mitigating factors.  

Teams value RAS because the average player on an NFL roster has a 7.16 RAS, with the average starter over 8.

Take Jonah, for example.  He was as technically sound and "productive" as you could get out of college.  He was mediocre in the pro's because he just didn't have the traits to match up with more athletic edge rushers.

This is a good post. Thanks for that. But it is not either or. Take the guys who have both production AND the traits. 

All the guys on that list were productive, even Mims in limited snaps. Murphy was the least productive & had trouble finishing.

If there is a positive straw to grasp at, this is definitely one of them.

Seems many around here didn't want Booker because he wasn't Athletic enough despite dominating on the field. Now we're hating Stew for the opposite.

Lots of guys skip agility drills, but Zabel and Jackson literally refused to run, so I take those scores with a massive grain of salt.   Campbell didn't do bench or vert jump, so he's also incomplete, but had a legit excuse with the injury.

The only way this pick makes sense is if we plan to keep Trey. Together, they could be very disruptive. I know nothing about Stewart. But after watching his highlights (what little there is), he has good speed and strength. Quick off the ball. If he draws much attention, then Trey sets the sack record again, and our DL looks competitive.

Whatever, whatever. You are missing the point. 

There were plenty of guys with great tape and great RAS scores who have proven they were good at football. Stewart has poor football instincts. He tries hard, but just doesn't get it. 

Duke is arrogant enough to keep picking these guys because ye thinks we can fix them. Despite the long track record of failure. 

Most ootimistic grades are Bs. Many C/C-. I'd go F/D.

Definitely not true. Stewart has no pass rush moves. He is just fast and big. The Bengals have failed so hard and so often in tge past with these guys, you have to expect the worst. How’s Myles Murphy doing?
