Crippled News Network's Mock On MDD

I used Mock Draft Database and drafted a full draft.

The only pick that I really don't like was taking from Lathan Ransom from Ohio State just because he plays downhill and near the line, which would be great in the old AFCN, but it's too much of a passing league now. He does do ok in the box and is good blitzer, so might be good if he can improve his coverage.

1. WALTER NOLEN- you know my obsession. He's a great run stuffer and pass rusher from the tackle position and will make our ends' lives a lot easier. He's our new Geno.

2. Donovan Jackson G- defense and guards to protect Burrow should be the top priority of this draft.

3. Jared Wilson G- Same as above.

4. Ashton Gillotte DE- Can collapse the pocket as a pass rusher from the end. I like this guy's potential with a little coaching.

5 Ransom- like I said, it was a mistake, but might not be bad.

6 Jack Kiser- not bad to get Kiser to this late.

Thoughts?

I think Ransome is good pick in the 5th round. Probably better than what we have now. Way more athletic than Battle or Stone and a better tackler.

I would be stoked to get Jackson. 2x 1st team all big 10 and 2nd team all american this past year while playing most of the season (9 games) at LT. Knowing he can play more than one position at a high level I really don't understand when he doesn't have a higher grade.

Yeah, I don't know I didn't mention it (I did in another thread), but Jackson's weaknesses are things like speed rushers pose a problem and moves in open space, but he won't have those problems in the interior line with being so tight of spaces. He's a great pick if he falls to us.
