So the around a million week in cap space if Trey sits out.  Some free agents on defense are Za Darius Smith or Clowney as Edge Rusher.  Rasul Douglas or Asante Samuel at CB.  Justin Simmons or Marcus Williams at Safety.   Plus more Free Agents hitting the open market looking for a team after all NFL teams have to make a lot of player cuts on Tuesday 26th deadline.  The extra million a week could let defensive coach Golden suggest to Bengals some free agent players to bring in that could maybe help this team This Season. 

OK, we all want Trey to Play....but if he doesn't, the extra million per week in cap space could get some help in here to help win This Season.  There could be Free Agents who could help this defense. 

The Colts game will be the last game for many Bengals also.  It is NFL Cut Time.  So those not getting it done will be gone.  Plus Bengals cut Zach Moss and opened some cap space with that move.  So the Bengals are either set to take vacations with this money as you suggest, OR bring in some free agent players to help this team This Year as I suggest.  If Trey don't Play, then Plan B has to be brining in some D Help in early part of season to try to have a defense that is better hitting it's stride for play-offs in mid to late season. 

GO BENGALS 

Yes, Bengals could bring in a pass rusher if the choose after week 1 and use Trey money to pay them. Also, Bengals do not have to guarantee a vet contract if they are not on the roster week so best to sign one after 1st game.
