Chris Jones zipped right past the entire IDL market. Last year there were 3 guys in the $24-24.5m/yr range and then Chris Jones came in at $31.75m/yr. Even now in 2025 the 2nd highest paid IDL is at $26m/yr with Chris Jones still way ahead of him.
It shouldn't be equally as hard to get a deal done with a guy who is only asking for market value as it was for a guy who wanted 30% above market value.
Yea, you can’t compare Trey Hendrickson to Chris jones. That would
Be like comparing Terry mclaurin to jamaar chase.
I don’t think Hendrickson will sit out games. I may be wrong, but that just doesn’t seem feasible for him.
The market has spoken/is speaking. If he was as valued as he thinks he is, he would be on another team by now. He is a great pass rusher, who is at 30. The diminishing returns are concerning. If he was 2/3 as good against the run as he is rushing the passer, he would have signed an extension or have been traded by now.
