In hindsight we can say the roster was horrible because of the record. But, at the time...people thought Marvin was stale and needed a young, offensive mind that could come in and turn the offense around.
But, I agree. This team is ran like a small market baseball team. There's revenue sharing in the NFL that baseball doesn't have. Other teams look for ways to stretch and manipulate the cap. It feels like the Bengals do the opposite in some ways.
Now they have been willing to keep Burrow and Chase and surprised in keeping Higgins. But, the defense is bad and hard to really say it got much better. Maybe Golden comes in and works wonders? Guard is also a glaring issue.
