But they could gain a more productive player who wouldn't get the spot on the 53 man roster otherwise. That is a net gain if this is about fielding the best team. 

Murphy is still a prospect and a former 1st round pick from two years ago. You don't cut guys like that at the expense of keeping a guy like Cam Grandy on the team. Cmon man.
