The third preseason games is Saturday -- a very short week. That is a recipe for injuries, especially because Indianapolis will be coming in with a week's worth of rest before that third game and because Indy may throw in 3rd stringers desperate to make an impression -- a hard hit, etc.
The starters should play a series or two in the second game. They would then reach the threshold that Esiason said they needed to be ready (20 to 40 snaps for entire preseason -- Burrow was QB for 16 so far) and likely would be against Washington's starters, and they would also get used to playing a night game.
Yes but defeats the focus as that would leave 3 weeks to opener
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.
