Absolutely, even our "elite" offense came out flat after a leisure camp last year. Training camp is supposed to temper the body for the rigors of contact football, get the legs conditioned for playing in the hot early games of the season, as well as build team chemistry and comaraderie. Sure, taking it easy reduces head injuries, but soft tissue injuries are up exponentially across the league.
