One way to find out is bring him in and look at him.  If he is not going to be ready anytime soon then let him leave.  If he is at the point where he might only miss the first couple of weeks then he would be worth signing.  The Bengals could bring him along slowly.  The Bengals need an interior pass rusher and Wilkins is pretty good at that.    I dont see anyone else of that caliber falling into the Bengals lap this season.  Defense obviously needs help and he could provide it.
