This defense has below average talent. People pointed to Lou and said "scheme this, scheme that". The problem is that there just isn't a ton of talent on this defense. This is mostly the same group that we trotted out last year. We just have a new coordinator and a few new faces. That's it.
It's pre-season. This is the time to screw up. This isn't necessarily indicative of things to come, but I am also not going to be surprised if this group isn't very good.
Thank you! I’ve said this all off season. We didn’t do enough to upgrade the roster. And the board here just points to new coaches and rookies who were drafted.
People here have blinders on. Look at the names added and tell me who else was clamoring for them in free agency? We got a couple legit back up players in free agency and then drafted rookies. Every team gets rookies, it’s basically keeping up with the Jonse’s unless you knock the draft out of the park. Which we didn’t.
This team has the possibility to be worse than last year because Chase probably isn’t winning triple crown again. People will point to the games we almost won and I’ll point to the games we almost lost. I believe this team misses the playoffs again or loses wild card weekend.
