1. Starting Minutes in Preseason
Look for the starters to play roughly a quarter in Thursday's preseason opener vs Philly.
"It could go into the second quarter because of the reps we've gotten, but right now that's about the target we've got," Zac Taylor said.
2. Ridder Expected to See Action
After Joe Burrow and Jake Browning play most of the game, Desmond Ridder will likely get in. He's enjoying watching Burrow.
"He's the fastest I've seen as far as reaction time to the defense and knowing where to go with the ball," Ridder said. "It's like watching art out there."
3. Newton Bringing Energy
I enjoy watching Josh “Fig” Newton on the sideline. Nobody offers his teammates more constant encouragement.
"You never know what a 'come on' or a 'let's go' will do for somebody," Newton said. "It could motivate 'em. It could settle 'em down. It could help 'em make a play."
4. Rookie LBs Impressing
Demetrius Knight has earned frequent praise at camp, but fellow rookie Barrett Carter has also been impressive.
"I think he's only gotten better every day," Taylor said. "He's got a lot of upside, and I've been really pleased with how all of the linebackers have developed."
5. Legendary Respect
Bengals legendary left tackle, Anthony Munoz, respects the team's current one Orlando Brown Jr.
"When I stand next to him, I feel like a little kid with his size and length," Munoz said. "I love his leadership qualities. He's engaged, he's teaching — not to mention his level of play"
