I don't think it's hostility or dislike so much as a lack of excitement and belief that he's a solution. I think it feeds into yet another step in a long line of steps that show the Bengals don't financially value IOL.

He's a guy heading into his age 32 season who signed for 1yr/$2.1m which makes him the 57th highest paid G in the NFL in 2025. If he were as great as just the sack numbers suggest, he would have signed for both more years and money. This is a league that is desperate for linemen, one where Alex Cappa was terrible and still got 2yr/$11m.

To me he's basically another John Jerry... or maybe an older XSF.
