With Shemar announcing that he will not participate in mandatory camp, I think it's safe to say that for a project player the spring on field sessions were important and significant to a strong start to the rookie year. This is no different then a first round rookie injured and not getting reps.
I think it means his rookie season is all but a wash. At least early in the season. Rookies who miss spring and are already considered projects typically have stunted growth. I think a slow start even with training camp reps should be expected.
