In addition to 35 sacks over the past two seasons, he's also made 35TFL (all of which on rushing plays...) and 61 QB hits.

If the Bengals don't want to pay for that sort of production, why are they even going through the motion of fielding a team?

What I've read is that they've offered him around $28 million a year on average. He's making what $17 million this year. So they're upping that by a decent amount.

But, year...it isn't the $35 million a year that he probably wants.

What I wonder...is IF the Bengals privately view this upcoming year as a rebuilding year, especially on defense. With Burrow and Chase, your offense will keep you in games. But, on defense, it's hard to say that it really improved a lot.
