Geno Stone takes pay cut

They've ended up having to pay many millions more because they wanted to haggle as the market price rose. With even a little commone sense, forget about foresight, they could have all of them under contract right now, paying them less annually while having more cap space.

Now that they're under contract (i believe Trey will be soon), in 2-3 years, their current deals will look like bargains and i'm sure many (some?) will come running to proclaim how smart the Bengals FO is for having players already under contract while the market is skyrocketing. Only, they'll forget how much more they could have saved if they had simply done it earlier.

Now, if you want to talk about their M.O., then i can agree. They have changed the way they operate over the last 5 years, with improvements in different areas. They still lag behind the "better" franchises in some ways, but they've gotten better with things like RoH, improvements to the stadium and practice area and the improvements to the locker room and weight room, etc.

The offered Chase. huge contract prior to 2024 and Chase said no. It takes 2 to come to an agreement. In hindset, yes it is easy to say they screwed up. You mention Chase, yet do not mention the Burrow deal. Did FO do well locking up JB? I say hell yes.

They also may be the best albeit conservative teams in the NFL not shelling out bad cotracts and eating dead money (money they can spend on their players). I want them to be more agressive manipulating th cap but when I see the Ravens having to eat 7.5 million for a 35 year old kicker and over 15 million for a saftey not on their roster, 8.5 million for Beckham Jr. from 2 years ago and over 3 million for another receiver, I appreciate why they do as they do.

Thr Ravens routinely have in excess of 15 million dollars of dead cap, it is their MO, but to say they are using cap dollars wisely is simply not true. What could they have done with their roster in 2025 with an extra 20 million?

I am interested to see how they deal with Trey. They don't have to do anything, but I am hopeful they do something. They have another decision to make with Pratt, do they keep him and then the LB room is set or do they trade or cut him?

Who are your top 10 FO's and why?

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!
