Simple, Trey over played hs current deal. I have been sonistent, we need to extend Trey, but not for 30 million in 2025. I said fair contract, I think the Bengals need to give him a nice 5 to 7 million dollar bonus for 2025. Then give him insentive laden deals for 2026 and 2027 that he can make 30 million a year, but based on production so very little guaranteed.
The players respect him and it is also great PR to sign hi to an extension. I have also said it takes to agree, if Tey wants a guaranteed deal for 30 million or more in 2025, 2026 or 2027, no way I do that if I am the Bengals.
The team can easily structure a deal to insure if our 31 year old who will be 33 the final year of a 3 year extension won't be off the hoo if he is injured or production slips (he loses incentives).
