Why the F is this team so obsessed with RAS scores over actual production!? They cannot "develop" trench talent which is why they always need to look at FA for help there.
So Atlanta wanted to address its pass rush: Jalon Walker and Pearce = absolutely done
sorry for the rant, but Im tired Boss.
So, the RAS scores for the 1st round picks in the Taylor era are...
Jonah Williams-5.48
Joe Burrow -6.39
Ja'Marr Chase -9.81
Dax Hill-9.03
Myles Murphy -9.52
Amarius Mims -9.59
Shemar Stewart-10.00
I think everyone can agree that Chase was a hit. Mims, based on his rookie season, is trending that way.
Dax is a tough one to handicap because his development has been stunted by injury and position changes, but he did look good once they moved him to outside CB last year.
Murphy is the only real guy I can say is a high RAS disappointing that doesn't have mitigating factors.
Teams value RAS because the average player on an NFL roster has a 7.16 RAS, with the average starter over 8.
Take Jonah, for example. He was as technically sound and "productive" as you could get out of college. He was mediocre in the pro's because he just didn't have the traits to match up with more athletic edge rushers.
