Still holding out hope though. Perhaps Marte is for real this time around? Lux and Hays seem to be adding promise. Maybe Steer can get it going? Hopefully Elly will stop striking out twice a game, so on, so on.
I'm still intrigued.
I will say that with the additions of Lux, Hays, Trevino, and Wynns, plus the utility of Espinal and the hopeful soon return of Stephenson, Reds shouldn't HAVE to put Candelario, Steer, and CES out there much.
All these 3 dudes have a sub-500 OPS and sub-30 OPS+.
It would be fantastic if Marte really started coming into his own at 3B and then Stephenson could take 1B, leaving Hays/Lux for DH while the other covers one of the OF spots with Friedl and Fraley.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
