Not blaming Friedl for the throw to the plate . . . looking side-eyed at a slow Candelario for being too far away.
As an outfielder, you're taught to throw the ball to the same spot and the infielder/cutoff man is to decide if it goes through or not. Friedl threw it slightly to the catcher's right, but bounced it at just about the perfect distance to give the catcher time to read the bounce. I gave Herd of Bees major props for a throw just like that last year.
Candelario went from the edge of the outfield grass to behind the pitchers mound . . . he should have been sprinting to the pitchers mound or near it. If he's in the proper position, this gives the runner less time to make the decision on whether to advance or not.
