Remember also our defensive braintrust last season had Murphy put on weight so he came in larger but also slower. Sounds like he is trying to get back into a faster form.

And yes Slaton fills a glaring gap on the DL - lack of a NT. I actually would think their DL draft priorities are EDGE and another NT so they can rotate. Possibly Green or Pearce and a NT.
