The motivation would be threefold. First, they feel Brown can be more effective if he's sharing touches and kept fresh. As the year went on and he took on the cast majority of the carries, the number of big, explosive runs he had diminished drastically. Second, likely little confidence in Moss/Perrine carrying the load if Brown goes down. And third, with so much $ in the WR's, paying a RB in a year or two because you didn't draft a replacement could get tough.
Sorry, I meant snaps, not touches.
Montgomery had 390 offensive snaps, which accounted for 41% of the snaps in the 14 games he played.
For Bengals, I see Perine getting 200+ snaps for his pass blocking if anything, and I think Brown will easily get 400+ if not 500+ like last year.
I'm just wondering how many snaps that would leave for a rookie RB.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
