-He was here when we hired Frank Pollack, Jim Turner, and Frank Pollack again.
-He was here when we chose Kevin Zeitler over David DeCastro and drafted Bodine, Ogbuehi (and later sent Whitworth packing for him), Fisher, Price, J Williams, Carman, D'Ante, Volson, and then finally Mims.
-He was here when we traded for Cordy Glenn, signed Bobby Hart, John Miller, Xavier Sua'Filo, La'el Collins, Alex Cappa, and Ted Karras.

He hasn't really been killing it as a consultant for the previous 13 years.

To counter some of your points, LL:

1. Pollack isn't a bad coach, never has been: Rapien has been saying since last year (talking '23), that his style of coaching and the like is not a good fit for the team and I'd agree. This is more on the FO for keeping him around so long, as his philosophies and players don't necessarily work out in our current system, but that's not- a topic for this post.

2. Zeitler was better than DeCastro at the time (this was around the time I tried to work for PFF and was really entrenched in evaluations and the like, thus I remember it all very well) and has had a significantly-longer and more sustainable career: he was DEFINITELY the better pick. If DeCastro went to the Raiders, he never would've made a PB, complete Stooler Bias. Bodine was a PA pick lol, we all know the story behind that. Same with Ogbuehi. For the rest, not sure if McNally had much of a say in anything.

3. Glenn wasn't a bad player for us, he just had a shit attitude. On the field, he performed well-enough. Miller was also good for the one season (not spectacular or anything), Collins was also fine, just not the player he once was and Cappa was a top 5 RG until he got hurt in the playoffs (or was it last game of the season?), then hasn't returned to form. Karras has been more than fine all along.

I'd say that if the guy indeed has a hand in all of our OL activity, he is largely hit and miss, but there is quite a bit of good in your list of players.

I just can't believe a 5'3 guy (or whatever he is, he's tiny) is a good OL coach lol: I know size means nothing, but it's so jarring to see an Oline coach that small
