Hell yeah Andujar.

Where'd all these HRs come from? He's now 1 HR with the Reds shy of his HR total all of last year.

8 run lead and Barlow can’t throw strikes, really

Well if that's going to happen, it's better with an 8 run lead than a 1 run lead.

It would be a solid time to break out of our funk against them.  Seems unlikely, but it sure would be fun.

Indeed it would

They've been doing a lot of winning so perhaps it's time for some losses??

Mets went to the 4th inning up 6-0 on the Braves. Braves scored 9 in the 4th to go up 9-6!

Mets lose! Reds just 1 game back.

The Mets have collapsed in a way that is surprising even for the Mets.

They've lost 12 of their last 14 games. They've fallen from 62-44 (18 games over .500) to just 64-56 (8 games over .500).

This has opened the door for the Reds to be playing relevant baseball in Mid-August. This is a lot of fun!

Now PLEASE, call up Sal Stewart! I want to see him in a Reds jersey this year.

So......you're saying there's a chance?

unironically, yea. We're only 1 GB from the Mets and our offense has been improving since a really bad start to the 2nd half. Andujar looks like a great addition as well.

Obviously, we could go on a 5 game losing streak while the Mets come back alive, and we could be 5 games out by the end of next week but, for the time being, we're within striking distance of post season relevance :)

Reality, we are playing the hottest team in MLB, the Brewers, on a 12 game winning streak. Reds have not had a lot of success beating the Brewers, last couple of years. I don’t see the Mets playing this poorly the rest of the year.

I still believe 88 to 89 wins, get you the last wild card spot. The Reds need to win 24 of the remaining 40 games to get to 88 wins.

Unless the Mets play .500 the rest of the season, I really don’t see the Reds getting the last wildcard. The Reds do have the hardest schedule in MLB to finish the year, that doesn’t make it any easier.

I'm still pissed that Suter was squeezed by that umpire in New York. Reds tie it in the top of the 8th with a chance to sweep them. He threw five straight strikes to start the 8th inning and Soto still walked on a 3-1 count. He later went on to score the winning run.
https://www.espn.com/mlb/playbyplay/_/gameId/401696392 <--- click on Soto's at bat in the 8th and look where all five of Suter's pitches landed.
