Does that really matter? It's backups playing backups like the majority of the game and the defense looked much better in the 2nd half. Thought you would be happy about that but i guess i should know better by now.

Don’t care
He looked decent with us and as i said his mindset closely matched Butrow and Browning
If I’m looking for an “on speed dial” QB and my choices were Ridder and Woodside I’m taking Woodside 9/10 times

Offenses tend to stop trying so hard when they have a multiscore lead.

The score is about what I expected, the negative nancy's are really bad in the Gameday thread though brother.
They don't understand preseason games either. You look for how your 1's or 2's do and look for a diamond in the rough here and there.
The score does not matter. The downer debbies are always....
Same names, same story, when they are not around everything is good and we are looking good. Should tell you all you need to know.
I get to watch the game on Gamepass now thankfully and give a thoughtful review of a bit of it. God bless brother appreciate rationality.

People here have blinders on. Look at the names added and tell me who else was clamoring for them in free agency? We got a couple legit back up players in free agency and then drafted rookies. Every team gets rookies, it’s basically keeping up with the Jonse’s unless you knock the draft out of the park. Which we didn’t.
This team has the possibility to be worse than last year because Chase probably isn’t winning triple crown again. People will point to the games we almost won and I’ll point to the games we almost lost. I believe this team misses the playoffs again or loses wild card weekend.
A LOT of fans here have on blinders, but I certainly don't. The downgrading of the defense in the offseason (ala not extending TH) will equate to a worse defense this season than last season. The defense is PURE trash and CTB sits at the top of the heap. They literally could have cut their entire defense save TH, brought in a team of free agents, and done better than what they're going to do with what they have. Wait and see lol

Lol you're right preseason doesn't matter, but, seriously, do you think the starters would have done any better? Those guys on the field tonight did the same exact things the starters from last year did, YET they are coached by the SAME DC this year. If THEY are foing the same things, and being that they are being coached by the same coach, what on earth would make you think things will be any better this year with the D starters against the oppositions starting O?? The reality is that the defense has college level talent on D, not NFL level talent and all a top college level DC will be able to do with college level talent is mold a top college level defense, which will equate to a bottom, or close to the bottom NFL defense. Don't fool yourself into thinking anything different. Ive seen this story play out way too many times.

It’s not the score. It’s also not “well the starters didn’t play much and they were missing so and so”. Many here have said Golden’s new scheme alone would improve the defense. So why didn’t our 2’s play better against the eagles 2’s? We saw the exact same type of play from the defense as we did for 17 games last year. A new scheme isn’t going to fix bad players. We have bad bad players, period. We didn’t do anything to address the D Line, linebackers, or secondary. Sorry rookies don’t count, as they didn’t count for much last night

We're just getting warmed up. This is our preseason, too. Wait until game 1 and see how negative we can be.

Sorry, but what you say here is complete bullshit. CTB didn't even play last night. Never heard of anything as stupid as just cutting the
entire Defense full of youth and early round picks to bring in a team of Free Agents, just crazy talk without any solution.

So you new to this Offseason? We fired Lou and almost all the Defensive coaches and hired Golden as DC and a new Defensive staff.
One preseason game against the Champs does not make me want to jump off a cliff like you. Again, just crazy and you don't even know the team.
Your story is your own.

So you aren't counting on any growth out of the youth under the new Defensive staff? You won't even give them a few preseason games
before giving up on them? News flash, the Eagles are way ahead of us and are a much deeper team on Defense. Cannot believe this was a
surprise to you guys, but you never fail to amaze me with your glass half empty ways.
You are like a battery that is only hooked up to the negative post. I don't even know how you work lol

Probably not. But last night was atrocious. I haven't felt that much pain since divorce 1-2 and 3. On the bright side, I don't have to pay child support to the Bengals D because they ain't mine and I don't claim them.

I would say the same thing about you though, you only look at everything g positive. And in all sincerity, that’s great if it works for you. I’m pretty glass half full in everything in my life…except the bengals bc I’ve been a fan for too long with heart break after heartbreak. I guess it’s a form of self protection.
Yeah I’m going to give them a game or 2 in the regular season, but I don’t expect much different outcome than what happened last year.

Man Harley, you take preseason too seriously bud. It was a wake up call for the Defense who were getting too much hype after
playing well against our 1's in camp. I would of much rather had this happen now. Have to have growing pains with our new coaches
and players IMO. Get this crap over now and learn from it.
I saw some good things from McKinnley Jackson in the 2nd half. He had 2 TFL and a couple pressures. Don't know why he was playing
with the 3's and 4's though.

Nah, I can be negative, but it doesn't really help anything. I have been around with the heartbreak as well through 2 close SB losses and
the 90's. Positivity can help and there were positives to take from last night, Burrow and our Offense looked fantastic. Chase Brown looked
great running between the numbers. The Defense will get better under Golden and the new coaches once they settle in.
If you think otherwise, that is okay.

I agree defense looked very bad. I will add Zac said they decided to not show anything defensively (new scheme) and it makes sense. Teams new Lou's tendacies for play callng on certain downs and distances, it will be an unknown for Brown's week 1 if we keep playing a vanilla defense.
My concern is Zac said they knew they would have to win one on one battles which of course se lost. Also for me the DB room which I had great hope struggled especially Turner and Ivey and every saftey in my opinion. Hopefully we play better next week, I am not giving up hope the defense is better just yet.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!
