Man. I did not like it at all on first listen, each spin it gets better and better. Yeah the production on vocals is a lot of people’s gripes about this album but I dig some of the choices/variations like Cuttin’ Teeth and Snipe Hunt.

Starting to think you just have to hear him live to get the full idea of how good he is. I got to see him in a reasonably small venue (Newport Music Hall in Columbus) 8 or so years ago. The grit in his voice is something else.

So you saw him while he was…Cuttin’ Teeth. Awesome! Ive seen him three times now. Once at Red Rocks, once at Noblesville Amphitheater in Indy and last week at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. They sounded better than they ever have last week. It was the day after the album dropped.
