Reds June 2025 Thread

Lodolo, Abbott, and Singer all are pitching better than Martinez.
Burns is getting the call-up to see if he's ready for the bigs, but if he is, he'll take one of the rotation spots and Greene will take the last once back.
Sucks the Reds are paying a potential non-closer RP $21 mill this year, but he's basically just on loan while the young guys come up. I don't expect Martinez back next year. Heck, they may try to move him by the deadline.

I bet they do. There's always teams needing pitching, doubt they get much for him.

Is Martinez so bad that he can't hold down the 5th spot in a rotation?  I'm confused as to who takes his place.  Martinez and Greene are out, so Burns only takes one turn.  No Miley, either?  Are they going to run Petty out there again?

Elly have yourself a night.

I’d say it’s in front of his future team, but I think he’s probably going to be a Dodger once he leaves.

He'll still be a Red during the coming lock out. After the year and a half that they are going to be negotiating that next deal, the new system may allow/force them to keep him and a partner or two.

His balance on his stance is so different right now. He had a slight bit of that lean that I normally hate on his right handed 8th inning homer . . . but the lean was from his follow through, after contact. His eye level didn't change during the swing. He's looking really focused at the plate right now.
