Bengals v. Hamilton County - Square Off
(04-08-2025, 08:25 AM)Sled21 Wrote: Like I said, if they moved to Kentucky I don't think it'd be more than a jump across the river. That said (and this will not happen) it would be interesting to see them move to the Kentucky Speedway. While they'd have to remove the track to put up a stadium, the parking lots and infrastructure are already there. Plus, it would put them squarely between Cincinnati, Louisville and Lexington, so they'd draw from all three cities. The drawback is, besides the track, there's really nothing else there, other than a closed strip joint. But like I said, it will never happen. The players mostly live close to the stadium.

Lol as someone who lives in that area... there is no chance in hell.

These rich prima donnas are not going to move frankly out to the middle of nowhere. Yes Florence and Cincinnati are 20-30 min away but I feel like my point still stands.

Perhaps if they never got rid of Racers Wink

I wonder if an IKEA stadium deal would come with a free complimentary Allen wrench to assemble your seat before games..   Hilarious

So you're going back 57 years to make a comparison? Shocked

I am not going anywhere . whether it be protests in the late 1800s to the Million Women March on Washington in 2017...the ability to protest is what makes our country great.

I have been mulling around the idea of pulling up stakes and going to SA for the last couple of years, so if by chance they do move, I hope it is SA.

did Portland do something to you to make you hate it..My brother has lived there for 35 plus years ..started a dental practice there..Its a simply beautiful town and when we have visited the people that live their seem very down to earth and friendly

Is this a Cold War type of front Katie is putting up?  On one hand, tax payers have committed a lot to the Bengals.  On the other hand, I’d imagine another city (St. Louis?) would HAPPILY welcome the current iteration of the Bengals and the revenue it brings to the city.

You gotta say this about Katie, she handles everything in about the same manner.

Under President Trump, money to States is hard to come by. Trump also not a fan of The NFL.  Cleveland Browns were just told a loud NO on a new stadium.  The days may be winding down of these super rich owners getting tax payer funded stadiums while millions are suppose to lose Health Care and Schools and Homes.

I like the Bengals, but I would not be surprised to see owners try a move to St Louis or San Diego or some other city besides Cincinnati.  I would simply say Adios Mike Brown and Family and don't let the door hit you in the rear end as you leave.  Would I still root for Bengals ?  No, Never Again.  I would like to then become an Indy Fan, but I bet we get stuck with Cleveland on TV.   Indy is closer.

The Economy and The Politics are important.  The NFL and Bengals are not above everything else.  Given the choice between keeping Hospitals or keeping Bengals, I'll take Hospitals every time.  State Money is getting tight.  The Cleveland Browns were just told NO by State Politicians last week.  In fact they said they were not paying for a new stadium and especially for a losing team.  The days of kissing these rich football owners rear ends and NFL rear ends is drying up.  It is a new day.  Actually, there is nothing wrong with where Bengals and Browns play.  Funny The Packers never ask for new stadium, nor do Red Sox or Cubs.

Phase 1 of the Paycor renovation has been approved. The county is putting in $64.5 million. The Bengals $120 million half of which is coming via a loan from the NFL. The construction will begin in Feb 2026 and will include suite and lounge upgrades as well as improves to the escalators and concession areas. Thery also set a goal f Jun 30 as the date to complete the new lease by.

The MOU calls for the county to spend $64.5 million in the project’s first phase on infrastructure projects, including new elevators, stairs, escalators, suite seat replacements, glass refurbishment, electrical upgrades and a new Junglevision control room.

Good news! And I also like that we aren't bailing on downtown. And also that instead of trying to replace a perfectly good stadium we are giving it the updates it richly deserves.

The Cleveland Browns have found out, and so will the Cincinnati Bengals, this is NOT the right time to be asking for new stadiums.  The Ohio Legislature is saying NO.

The World Economy, the USA Economy and The Ohio economy is not very good right now.  Those who follow the financial news besides the football news know this. Financial leaders are calling for a recession in 2025, and maybe another 1930's type depression.

To meet the hard economy times, many in USA government want to eliminate Social Security, Medicare, Disability Medicaid, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Schools, and as Congress likes to say, " Even mothers milk is on the table to be cut ".

As much as I have loved Bengals since 1968, given the choice between keeping schools and hospitals or taxpayers building new stadiums for Bengals and Browns for the already super rich owners, I would choose keeping hospitals and schools.

This is the wrong economic time for Bengals and Browns owners to gouge the taxpayers for new stadiums.  Isn't it funny The Green Bay Packers stay happy with their stadium all these years. The truth is super rich owners blackmail the area they are in on these new stadium demands.  St Louis had a good stadium and moved back to LA.  San Diego had a good stadium and moved to LA. The Bengals and Browns have good stadiums, often better than the teams they put on the field.

The Ohio Legislature is saying NO to the Browns, and they will say NO to the Bengals.  Both the Browns and Bengals owners are picking a terrible economic time to demand new stadiums from the middle class and lower class tax payers suffering hard in the 2025 economy.  I like football and baseball, but it's not everything. Plus both NFL and MLB are close to going on Strike again.

Yes I love my Bengals since 1968, but is this the right economy time to ask tax payers for a new stadium, and I say NO.   In fact, I say these owners of sports teams should have to pay for their own stadiums.  They are the ones who get richer off them. not WE THE PEOPLE the taxpayers.  I use to like The Cincinnati Royals, but life went on without them.  If the Bengals or Browns leave Ohio, life will go on without them. Again, it's funny that the Packers, Cubs, Red Sox don't ask for new stadiums, and it shows that perhaps these other owners such as Bengals and Browns are just too cheap and greedy.

On cutting taxes and dealing with the economy, I'm for helping out farms and small business and hospitals and schools way more than these rich owners demanding new stadiums way too much. The Ohio State Legislature just told the Browns NO, and the Bengals can expect the same.

The Family of Paul Brown should remember that in the 1990's they looked into moving to LA, but LA said they did not want Mike Brown and his family or the Bengals.  Many areas are going to say in 2025 that they do not want The Bengals or The Cleveland Browns who have more losing seasons than winning seasons.
