Ehh it's all good.  I mean, we can't prove this guy won't be good BUT let's be honest as soon as the Browns take Shitdoor Sanders we're going to know he's going to stink and that he won't pull a Jayden Daniels and have the Browns in the AFC Championship game as a rookie....er, right?

The Browns made one great pick and trade haul. I think Sanders is already better than any QB on their roster. They also have another 2nd round pick so they could come out of this draft a playoff team. I hope not, but their DL could be scary with Graham and Garrett and who knows else that they can grab in this draft.

I think they grab Sanders and the the best OT on the board which right now is the huge tackle from Minnesota Ersery. It is not ranked that high, but he seems NFL ready.

I am not an expert, but a guy this athletic who seems to already have playing the run well down Montgomery may be able to focus more time on him rushing the passer.

I also changed my view once I read how A&M used him on their DL, all over and not just at DE, but stop run first seemed to be their moto for DL.

Yea and even in that role he had 39 pressures.

Could the pick have been better? Sure. Is this pick the end of the world? Not at all.

People seem to think the sky is falling but we got a guy with all the physical traits you want, already a good run defender, and seems to be able to get to the QB when given the chance but needs to become a better finisher. Hopefully he can come in and be a good player year 1 and improve on some of his deficiencies with the new coaching staff.

Has Stewart scratched the surface of his potential?

"Not even close," he said. "Trust me. When I get there, it's going to be a scary sight."

He really could turn into Jevon Kearse IF all goes well.

Kind of reminds me Oweh. Scored really high in raw athleticism. 2, 5, and 0 sacks in his Penn State career.

In 4 years with the Ravens had 5, 3, 5, and 10 sacks in 4 years as a Raven.

Stewart has a media session at 3, and he'll be on 1530 with Mo at roughly 3:30.

He is definitely a beast of an athlete, let's hope he is like Parsons and a better sack guy in the NFL than he was in college. I do believe he will be solid against the run day 1 and if so not a liability to be on the field. We all love the sacks, but our run defense was very bad the past 2 years after we lost Reader. Even then, it was not great.

I don't think I'd make any comparison to Micah Parsons, because Parsons was mainly a middle linebacker at Penn State and the Cowboys moved him to defensive end, which led to the increase in sacks in the NFL.  Furthermore, he didn't do so bad at sacks even in college at middle linebacker. At Penn State, he mainly only started his sophomore year (12 games) and had 5 sacks; he did have one start as a freshman with 1.5 sacks. That was it for Parson's college days; he didn't play his junior year because of a covid opt-out and then went into the draft. Still, playing at middle LB at Penn State, with one-third of the starts Stewart had, Parsons still had more sacks in college than Stewart.

I think Stewart is a rare talent, and, as one commentator on TV said, he should be an 11-sack guy in the NFL. But Parson's didn't need to be coached-up to increase his sacks; he was a rare specimen. Stewart will need to be coached up.

I was not expecting him to come accross this way in the interview.

Sounds like a good, personable kid. I really hope he pans out.

He seems like a nice kid, and I trust Golden. I know everyone can have an opinion on Shemar, but give the guy a chance and show some support for the human.

And a lot of the video I watched had him lined up at RDE. Can he play LDE, or is he Trey’s back up plan / rotational guy (I don’t see Trey come off the field often, if at all really)? I foresee a rotation at LDE this year with a heavy dose of Ossai unless they double up and draft another, mid round (L)DE if Stewart can’t play LDE.
Missed tackles are rough but, like I keep saying, sometimes a pressure is better than a sack, and pressure in the run game at least slows a back up and allows other defenders a chance to get to him.

Let's also not forget that Golden said that he wants to focus on fundamentals and cure the mistakes of things like too many missed tackles, so sounds like he's coming in to the perfect place for him.

A lot of times, a pressure can be better than a sack because it leads to rushed throws and interceptions. He wasn't used properly at A&M and does need improvements, but, for the hundredth time, I like this pick and don't think it's a Mike Brown "what the F was that" pick like we used to see when he was running things.

I'd love to know how his pressure rate his senior year compared to Murphys his senior year.

Sacks are a weird stat.

Sometimes other guys gets the pressure and it flushes the QB to a guy that is just in the right spot to get a sack.

Then, sometimes the guy outright beats his guy and gets a sack.
