Streaming Option for FanDuel Sports Network - ochocincos - 04-16-2025 As most of us know, it's been a pain for years trying to watch the Reds if you were considered in-market but didn't want to pay for one of the very few cable options that had FSOhio/BSOhio. This year with FanDuel Sports Network taking over Bally Sports, they finally have a good option for those in market. FDSN offers streaming-only for $20/month (or cheaper if you buy the full "season" or year) and you get every game of the team(s) in market. https://www.mlb.com/reds/fans/reds-tv?affiliateId=cin-redstv-022025 This has been especially nice for me, as I live in Nashville. Technically, Nashville is local market for Reds and Braves, but there would only be one channel on cable to watch, and they typically preferred to air the Braves games over Reds games. So as a Reds fan, you were lucky to even get half the games when it was on cable. I've been trying this out since the season started and been able to watch every single game. It's also nice because I don't need to get a specific full cable provider. Yep. I already have YoutubeTV but to watch the reds last year i had to also subscribe to Fubo. This year it was just $100 for the entire season. Much better. ![]() RE: Streaming Option for FanDuel Sports Network - rfaulk34 - 04-17-2025 (04-16-2025, 09:46 PM)rfaulk34 Wrote: Yep. It's still money being paid, even if getting it through a cable subscriber. At least with the direct option, you can easily choose to cancel it if team ends up sucking, you need or want to save money, etc. Harder to justify cutting if it's all the cable channels because you want to watch other things in the package. Right now, I'm paying for Sunday Ticket through YT for Bengals and now FDSN for Reds. May end up trying out ESPN+ for Red Wings next season. I did NHL Center Ice one season and enjoyed it but haven't been interested enough to get ESPN+ yet. RE: Streaming Option for FanDuel Sports Network - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 04-20-2025 This new local market streaming deal is awesome for MLB fans and it's very popular up here in Alaska. Due to a contract dispute with our local cable provider, Root Sports Northwest isn't in our cable option, yet we have still been blacked out from streaming Mariners games on MLB.tv for years because we are "in their region". So MLB.tv is only for non-Mariners fans up here, like myself. When my Reds or Angels play the Mariners, I can listen to streams of either of the radio broadcasts on MLB.tv, but I can only watch a replay about 4 hours after the game when Root Sports finishes their re-broadcast of the game. MLB.tv would be almost useless for a Reds fan in Reds territory. It's kind of easy to avoid spoilers on Reds and Angels games in the outskirts of Mariners territory with no local broadcast deal . . . it would be extremely difficult in the heart of Reds territory to avoid spoilers or updates for 7 to 8 hours before finally being able to watch a replay of the game. |
