Until about a month ago, I did not know that Singer was signed through next year. I thought that they were both in their FA seasons. This trade is becoming a blowout. India had nowhere to play on this roster and not mentioned in the article is that Lux is hitting .271. A different trade, but he was India's replacement. You jinxed it. ![]() RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - cinci4life - 08-07-2025 How do you not throw a strike to a freaking .118 hitter??? RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - cinci4life - 08-07-2025 8 pitch second. I think the ump missing that strike 3 which would have ended the first much sooner screwed Brady up. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 08-07-2025 ![]() RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 08-07-2025 Runners on 1st and 2nd - one out - pitcher goes into the stretch position Average right handed MLB hitter to self: "If he throws anything inside, I'm taking it unless I can inside/out it to the right side. He'll most likely throw me something hard and low on the inside, but might throw me a slider to chase it off of the plate. I doubt that I'll see the change up here, but it's a possibility . . . he's starting to deliver the pitch . . . looks like a fastball on the edge of the plate . . . I'm swinging to line it to right center!" Runners on 1st and 2nd - one out - pitcher goes into the stretch position Austin Hays: "I'm ####ing swingin'!" RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - Earendil - 08-08-2025 I seriously do not understand this team. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - ochocincos - 08-08-2025 3.5 games behind, 46 games left Luckily, the Mets are pulling a Mets and freefalling late in the season, going 2-8 in their last 10. Otherwise, Reds would be 4.5 games out of the WC, as SD has gone 8-2 in their last 10. While freefalls like this do happen, you can't bank on it to get into a playoff spot, so the Reds have be focused on winning 4+ games above .500 the rest of the way out if they hope to get into the WC, which means they will need to go at least 25-21 the rest of the way. They should really be aiming for 30 wins the rest of the way though, but they are far too inconsistent for that to happen, barring a miracle. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - TheLeonardLeap - 08-08-2025 3 strikeout inning is cool, throwing 27 pitches to do it is not. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - TheLeonardLeap - 08-08-2025 Got something cooking here. Lets go Fraley, make it hurt. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - TheLeonardLeap - 08-08-2025 ...bases loaded, 0 outs.... 1 run (off a double play). RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - TheLeonardLeap - 08-08-2025 Still don't approve of the lowering of decent starts to being 5 innings, but that said since I assume he's done at 88 pitches, that's still a quality showing by Burns. 5ip, 1er. Managed to have less hits+walks than ip, too, which is nice to see. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - TheLeonardLeap - 08-08-2025 Stephenson having a nice night! Huzzah for another lead. I have to eat my words. He went back out for the 6th, I didn't think he would with 88 pitches. Then a quick 2 outs with just 5 pitches. EDIT: And there's out 3 with another 4 pitches. Heck of a start for Burns! Seaver and Ryan didn't have dumbass parents running them thru 365 day a year travel ball and blowing their arms out before puberty. Those guys probably didn't even throw offspeed until high school. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - cinci4life - 08-08-2025 Ugh. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 08-08-2025 That's a team loss, but Santillan choked that shit away. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - TheLeonardLeap - 08-08-2025 That's just an incredibly weak showing. I haven't ever trusted Santillian, but you absolutely can't afford to be blowing 8th inning leads and losing two in a row to the 5th worst team in MLB Pirates. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - samhain - 08-08-2025 We're cooked. On to football season. The Pirates for Christ's sake. They should be gaining right now and they're circling the drain. RE: Reds August 2025 Thread - bengalfan74 - 08-08-2025 WOW can't beat the lowly Pirates. I think this article pretty much sums up Reds problem. And it's one most of us have been saying. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/cincinnati-reds-power-shortage-exposes-flawed-hitting-philosophy/ar-AA1K8kOn?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=ASTS&cvid=42799595a7d44b86ab0fce77e17f07f3&ei=24 |
