Don't know what 79 was doing there letting Shemar have a free run at the RB and QB...

It's mind blowing that they arent kicking the tires on either Hernandez or Schreff.

I don't think anyone believes Hernandez is healthy, or he wouldn't be available. I'd go after Scherf on a one year deal

Over the years I have attended many practices in camp. Each time I see a clip, I see a lot of emotion whether DB's breaking up passes, Ossai beating Fairchild or Yoshi catching a pass while covered well.

This team keeps up that emotion and could be a very special year.

Hernandez was medically cleared a couple days ago.

True, but there has been not even a bit of news about anyone looking into the guy at all. Makes yah wonder if he is still banged up, but we
should at least bring him in. Watch, they will bring in a Tackle instead because of Mims hurting the thumb again.

Ossai, say what you want …. Is our best 3T.

Did Mims hurt his thumb again or was it never healed from the end of last season? I am finding very little information about this current injury. I suspect it was never healed since week 16 or 17 of last season.

I dont know anything about the injury but I would bet it didnt fully heal from last season because he needed to have surgery on it and didnt do it.    That thumb is not going to heal by itself throughout this season if it didnt heal in the several months since last season ended

RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - jj22 - 07-31-2025

Lap said it was arthritis.

You know they have listened to the entire media and fans with the same headline. "If the Defense had played even mediocre the Bengals would have been in the playoffs". They know it's true too.

I will have to go back in this thread and look at what I read earlier, I kind of brushed over it trying to watch the highlights of everything
going on but Mims is my dude so I am very concerned. The only reason I wasn't for drafting him was because he never has had a fully
healthy season in his career. Seems like long enough time for a young guy to heal to me, even without surgery.

I don't get not having surgery on it when you have all the doctors and the money to do the best surgery possible. It isn't like me who
cannot afford it and I don't have medical insurance. I just have to be careful in everything I do, these guys get hurt all the time, it is in
their best interest to use all they have to help them heal as quickly as possible.

Thats a not a good thing though but yeah you're right. Maybe sample is better of healthy.

We keep forgetting about Cam Sample no doubt. But yeah, Ossai going against Guards and Centers is a definite mismatch on passing downs.

Good stuff on a confidence building day for the defense. Fairchild showing his rookie by getting yoinked on the push-pull by Ossai, but you'd rather see him learn those lessons now rather than on opening day.

I dont know about that excuse.  A 22 years old athlete has to miss practice time because he has arthritis in his thumb?

The joint at the base of the thumb is the most common place in the body for osteoarthritis as well as inflammatory arthritis. It can cause a weakened grip and there may be some instability. Proper taping could help deal with that. Other than those issues it’s a pain tolerance thing. A joint injection might help. But yeah, while it’s going to be painful, a 22 year old professional football player should be able to handle it.

That makes Mr believe it may involve soft tissue such as a ligament or tendon tear which can cause issues of its own.
