That's what I am hoping. The draft is deep in areas we covet so let's leverage that to get more draft capital.

bfine's bold prediction:

After this draft Jonah Savaiinaea will be a Cincinnati Bengal

My bold prediction, if we draft a defensive player in round one, the fans who said FO are idiots if they don't draft a guard/tackle to protec Burrow will be upset.

If we don't draft a defensive player, the fans who aid defense sucks and FO has to go defense with oick 17 will be upet.

Theird group upset will be we should have drafted _______________  (their only guy acceptable) will go bananas on the FO if it is not their guy.

Wait, you said bold prediction.....................nevermind

Seriously, let's hope they knock it out of the park, like many I am hopeful we can trade back and add picks, but have concerns if they trade too far back. The further we get away from 1st pick in the draft, the harder it becomes to hit on the pick.

RE: Draft Day 2025!!! - Synric - 04-24-2025

Who Dey! It's draft time. Crossing my fingers and hoping for lots of QBs and WRs in the top 16.

RE: Draft Day 2025!!! - Joelist - 04-24-2025

The main "bad picks" for Rd 1 would be offensive skill players and also Shemar Stewart. Offensive Linemen and defensive players all make some kind of realistic sense.

I mean  it depends who it is. I just think the draft is deeper on D than at OG. If you get beyond Rd2, getting a starter at G Is iffy. Whereas on D, we already have starter level guys at DT, LB, & CB. And an all pro DE. You don't necessarily need a Day 1 starter (DE2 and S are a bit different)..

Also, there are starter quality Gs and a S out tyere in FA (Hernandez, Scherff, Risner,,Blackmon).

RE: Draft Day 2025!!! - bfine32 - 04-24-2025

Is there going to be a discord for the draft or are we going to "discuss" here?

RE: Draft Day 2025!!! - Goalpost - 04-24-2025

So 10 minutes allowed between picks. 16 picks ahead of us. Worst case scenario, 160 minutes before the pick.

Agreed. But I'd be fine with Warren, Jeanty, or Loveland if they fell. WR or anither RB? No.

The good thing about being crappy is we didn't have to wait to long. I hope we have to wait 310 minutes next year.

Sounds about the perfect time for an ad break.

I think they get another 10 minutes if they trade so could be longer. Try to be patient and just enjoy it. Hopefully we will get some surprises and QBs will go early.

There’s a crap ton of people there. I went to the Vegas draft and it was an awesome experience. Would love to attend another draft someday.

Our OL needs help but we had one of the worst defenses in the league and one of the best offenses in the league, defense all the way.

RE: Draft Day 2025!!! - BFritz21 - 04-24-2025

Do we want the Steelers to take Shedeur Sanders?!

Would he be a bust there?

I think he'd bust and set them back some, but they always seem to be bust-proof (or their busts don't end up hurting them). Would they be able to recover from that?

RE: Draft Day 2025!!! - MTBengalsFan - 04-24-2025

I just don't want a repeat the Bengals select TE University of Washington, Drew Sample." (And yes, I know he went in round 2.)

Kelvin Banks imo is the pick if he’s there

Mike Green 2nd option

Derrick Harmon 3rd

Starks 4th

Emmanwori 5th

There is always a great discussion to debate why player A versus B. A lot of fans want a day 1 starter (plug and play) and while the need is addressd, it is not always the best long term decision. Sometimes as fans we have no patiience as we live in an instant gratification society.

I hope we get both with pick #1, fill the biggest need and also the guy we pick at 17 outperforms earlier and later picks from day 1. That may not be a realisutic expectation.
I was at PBS when we picked John Ross, the room booed and I was one of them. I understood why they did it, but as much as I liked AD, I thought we needed a new franchise QB.

We drafted Ross with 9th pick, Chiefs traded up to get MaHomes at #10 and history was written. Our table also wanted Marlon Humphrey or Watson.

This is the first that I've heard of an extra ten-minutes if a trade is made. From my experience, the 10-minute limit between selections in the first round applies regardless, and teams that make a trade to move up in the draft generally announce their selection right away for that reason. I couldn't find anything in the rules about extra time added for teams that make a trade. If that were the case, the NFL would lose the drama of where every second counts or a team may jump them in the order.

I am on the defense in round 1 train as well.

However if a guy like Will Campbell who maybe best LT in the draft (but can play guard) falls, I hope the team consider him.

I think as we get closer to our pick, we should each throw out 3 picks available after pick 14 (unless we trade back 1 is guarteed availble) to have a little fun in this thread.
