But to my surprise, we had every chance to win that game, but again, we beat ourselves. They will get it together and I feel good after this loss. I actually see some light that wasn't present last week. Agreed. With that agreed being said, they almost have to win next week to avoid going 0-3. Thankfully its against the Commandos who they better win against, otherwise, well they just gotta win. I actually see some light that wasn't present last week. I guess how one feels about the game depends on expectations. I thought the game would be close with the Bengals having a chance to win. I stated before the game that I expected the Bengals to bring their A game or at least their A- game. The Bengals always play KC close and they finally had that first game experience. (Practice does not replicate the speed and intensity of game action. The lack of playing in preseason games meant the Bengals were not taking good angles or tackling well the first actual game action they had.) Then when they got some breaks (interceptions), I was sure they would win this game. To have it snatched out at the end was devastating. I guess those who thought the Bengals were going to get demolished are happy that they lost a close game. But those who expected a close game and that the Bengals could likely win are not going to be so happy. It's a loss to a major rival. Its a loss in the AFC. It just bad news all over. So, no, I'm not happy. RE: Well I'm pretty happy with the game..... - Timanky12 - 09-16-2024 (09-16-2024, 12:03 PM)Millhouse Wrote: Agreed. I’ve been a Bengals fan since 2002. I’ve been reading the boards since 2002. And I’ve been burned so many times by the bengals. I don’t complain, I call things like I see them. The problem is it isn't blind optimism, we all know this team starts slow and it only took 2 games this time to wake up unlike last year when it took 4 or 5. When we went to the Super Bowl a couple years back we looked worse than this early as well. You are clearly showing blind negativism because of all the frustrating years of being a Bengals fan and I understand this, but it is different now and we very well could be a Super Bowl team again this season. Don't give up on them just yet, we have 15 more games to play and just played Mahomes and the Chiefs to the wire and had a great chance of winning if not for a rookie mistake. Yeah, we're once again in the dreaded 'must-win' territory only a scant three weeks into the season. But, even considering that things are set up nicely for them to go on a four-game winning streak heading into the Cleveland game. Add a win at Cleveland and it will be pandemonium here. Fans should be pissed that the team starts poorly every single year. 1 and 9 the past five years in the first two games. Or is it 1 and 11 the past six years? I think this may be an NFL record. This means the coaching staff does not have them ready. And losing early like this, especially AFC games, means it is a tough road to get home games in the playoffs. Not to compare apples to oranges, but Andy Reid has his teams ready at the start of every season. Zac Taylor does not have his teams ready at the start of the season. Hurrah for losing a close one this week against a quality opponent. The teams is still 0 and 2 to start yet another year. Is anyone going to hold Zac Taylor's feet to the fire for not having his teams ready on day 1 of the season and needing a couple of games to get started? I like Zac Taylor and am sure he will turn this around. But these continual slow starts mean little margin for error. And if no one holds his feet to the fire for these poor starts every year, and just look how he does later on, he will continue the same failed preseason plans. We're 0-2, who cares, it's a 17-game season. Chefs lost Pacheco and Mahomes doesn't really look like himself throwing 3 interceptions yesterday. The Ravens' biggest weapon is struggling to make field goals this year. Dolphins lost Tua. Pittsburgh is ahead right now in the AFCN but I do not see them sustaining that in any shape or fashion. Watson is struggling in Cleveland and has yet another sexual harassment allegation to contend with. Sunshine is down in Jacksonville, and people wonder why they paid him. We are never going to win 17 games. We are still playoff bound barring injury to Burrow. To hear some of you, we are already out of the playoffs. I swear, this nation is becoming nothing but a bunch of quitters. RE: Well I'm pretty happy with the game..... - Joelist - 09-16-2024 I just have a hard time shrugging off losses like this where they choked it away and it was a critical game because it was AFC and it was Kansas City. Contrary to some opinions seeding IS important. Courtesy of that game yesterday our best hope now is division champ, and even there were are 2 games behind the Stealers. Something like home field advantage is unlikely now. This isn't quite as disastrous as last season when are first two games were both in division and embarrassing losses but it also is still bad news. I expect the Bengals to win the division and be in the playoff and compete for a Super Bowl. I expected the Bengals to have a close game against KC. But losing the first two games year in and year out (well, they won one game in 12 of the first two) is not acceptable. Yes, I expect the Bengals to do very well the rest of the year. But starting 2 games behind KC for home field advantage in the playoffs (and, I guess three counting the head-to-head tie breaker) is not a "who cares" situation. We definitely found an identity All the stuff we did out of 12 personnel worked fine Eric All caught passes and it looked natural. He blocked well. When it was Sample and All the runs were all nice When it was Gesicki and All it was still solid. I think our identity will be Chase and Tee in 12 and we generate our big plays out of that on the ground and off play action and occasional go routes. I know the numbers werent impressive but i love Brown and Moss’s running styles. I feel like we could be a team that has a 50/50 pass run split if we wanted to.
