But, I look for them to both be good picks based on their draft position. Maybe try to attack other picks, there are many to choose to make your point. Even when they were healthy at the end of the year it was more down than up. McKinnley Jackson is a NT that struggles against Double teams. His best trait is his first step which is negated because he lines up a yard deeper so he can have an time to deconstruct blocks. Jenkins is just not a quick step guy. He needs to develop better power moves dude is strong but he stalls so easy wirh his bull and doesn't use a push pull which he should. He isn't great at double teams but I can be more lenient on a 3t, 2i, 4i. He is a monster in gap control 1 on 1 though. This isn't just my opinion from 1 NFL year but also from 2 years in college. These players need to take a massive step forward. If they can get it done with 1 scout, I don't care just put winning roster in place. They’ve shown no ability to field a contender once Burrow got paid. Let’s see them actually do it, then we can start handing out the kudos. RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - jj22 - 07-29-2025 I think wide receiver 6 is wide open but Williams is laying claim so it sounds. The overall assessment as was evident and elucidated by the coaching staff..was that jenkins and jackson made significant strides at the end of last year.....all players in the nfl...except a scattering of superstars need to take a step forward their second year in the nfl RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - Synric - 07-29-2025 (07-29-2025, 09:19 PM)ERIC1 Wrote: My response remains the same..the bengals organiztion did not agree with your assesment..and you can carry on all you want..but stewart is the bengals first round draft pick.. As for double teams, most DT's struggle against double teams in my opinion who are not elite. For me, it is respectful the OC and OL coach of the opposing team choose to doube team him on runs versus letting 1 blocker take him and the OL go for a LB down field But I am a novice. I dont question your experience, I do question you thinking you are smarter than our scouts, our OL and other coaches because you played 2 years in college. There is no doubt you have far superior knowledge on most in the forum, I will stop there. I do think the "realists" around here give you too much of a hard time. So if you are a troll, pat yourself on the back for getting under their skin. WTS, you need to take a look and see who knows what they are talking about and those who are just talking. But yeah, when another poster tells you "you should really learn football," that can cause defensiveness. [/ ..What I do understand is that stewart is our first round draft pick thats all I need to know I get that you are extremely passionate..I respect that..but your evaluation of players have sbsolutely no bearing on anything..Perhaps you should change careers and try to get a job as a scout in the nfl RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - rfaulk34 - 07-29-2025 (07-29-2025, 09:02 PM)Luvnit2 Wrote:(07-29-2025, 09:09 PM)Synric Wrote: Even when they were healthy at the end of the year it was more down than up. It trumps your opinion of his or anyone's ability. Someone could be good at something and not be interested in ever making it anything other than a hobby. Maybe he does want that type of job and maybe he's tried and realizes how difficult it is to enter such a highly competitive field. Maybe he's actually on his way to being an NFL scout but doesn't feel it's necessary to broadcast it here. What exactly are your qualifications to question his knowledge or choice of employment? Kind of a strange hill to die on when there are others here with questionable intent, not to mention bravery or foolishness to question someone who can talk circles around you when it comes to football 401, 301, 201 AND 101. I've always wanted to coach but did you know they only pay like 10k to 15k a year attached to a teaching wage to coach in High School? If evaluating NFL talent was easy, then we would need 1 scout and not 4. So sorry, I disagree. You don't like Eric which is fine, but arrogance and know it all attitdes get challenged it here, yes by fans with less knowledge which I admit is me. I am not dying on any hill, just making an obersvation and then an opinion just as you do every day in this forum. Syric can share hs prediction of Stewart's rookie year and career sack totals and tell us now if he will be: Bust Average Good Very good Outstanding Then we will have data andhe either earns respect or loses respect. That is fair IMHO. I understand and so to cause less friction, they have been put on ignore....Too many great contributors on this Board to be bothered by a few that are not. I am positive..I think this team , barring key injuries will do great this year..They made substantive changes in the offseason that neeed to be made..And as I have many times..I am grateful that mike brown did nit move the team to baltimore 25 years ago Again thanks.. but I do not analyze the posters on this board perhaps as much as you do nor is there the need to do so RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - Luvnit2 - 07-29-2025 (07-29-2025, 09:53 PM)rfaulk34 Wrote: Yep. But, it was unpaid and I had my career and then bought a business. I then went was hired and coached high school soccer, the JV team and also helpedthe varsity. I spent more money driving the 25 miles each way than I made. So, yes it take a passion to do something you love and so it for nothing. I loved it and would still be doing but sometimes life makes up stop. I urge Syric to volunteer or get hired as a high school coach, it is time consuimg, but rewarding. I worked 50 to 60 hours a week and then did the soccer thing for over 20 years, it can be done, but lots of sacrifces. |
