I'd rather have a better shot at winning our first Lombardi than see Mike Brown win another staring contest with a disgruntled player. For all the leverage Trey doesn't have, if he doesn't play our odds of winning it all go down...billion dollar offense, or not. History proves otherwise. I think Trey is a good man who is has a dumb agent & for some reason won't fire him. Trey asked for more money before last season when he was'nt eligible by league rules to do so. At some point he needs to take blame for accepting what the Bengals offered him & him taking it. Trey did'nt win us 1 game last year, in fact our D was horrible "with" him on the field. He needs traded for whatever they can get. End the saga now. Yes it does. Which history are you referring to? We all sin and do wrong, but anyone who has done so much wrong they’re considered bad, and claims to be Christian, simply isn’t Christian. But I digress, this is a sports board. Back to Hendrickson’s play on the field. You don’t think we won any games because of Hendrickson? I now understand why you want him gone. Agree to disagree on that one. However, if they happen to have a shitty year, the team cannot ask for money back for non-performance or adjust their contract based on the previous season's performance. If Trey didn't think he was worth $18.66 million for this year, why did he sign the extension? Or maybe it should've included verbiage that if others such as Myles Garrett or Maxx Crosby get more money than that will give Trey the right to amend the contract? Obviously, that would never pass. You’ve never seen a team renegotiate a contract? I’ll be more specific, you’ve never seen the bengals renegotiate a contract? Did you not see the bengals renegotiate Mixon, Moss, Volson? This happens all the time in sports and in life. Highly competitive fields like sports and premium sales positions, this happens all the time. My company pays me a higher commission rate when I perform in the top 5% of the company. As soon as I stop performing at that level, they drop my commission rate. Pretty standard in sales and all sports RE: Trey Hendrickson Update - PhilHos - 05-31-2025 (05-30-2025, 05:47 PM)rfaulk34 Wrote: "BOLD PREDICTIONS", Phil! They don't count. Yeah, I don't understand Trey still sticking with this agent. Trey is a smart dude, hate to side with the FO on this as well as they have screwed up a ton, but Trey is getting up there in age even if he led the league in sacks last year he isn't going to do that again especially after all this BS. Take the deal Trey and if your agent says to sit out, fire the sumbitch. Time isn't on your side man. Trey got most of his sacks last year feasting on a couple sucky LT's as well. And why there’s been little communication. What’s there to communicate? RE: Trey Hendrickson Update - NUGDUKWE - 06-01-2025 (06-01-2025, 04:15 PM)Soonerpeace Wrote: They are ridiculously far apart. He's said the years is the sticking point and everything else is negotiable. I think this is the most believable news as he's been happy enough being paid top 10 and hasn't had an issue with the lack of guarantees the Bengals offer. Makes the years not such a scary prospect if you can get out of the last year if his play drops off as the guaranteed money will be gone by then. The Bengals are just not a good front office. What’s there to communicate? Actually, Trey is asking to be matched with Crosby's salary, not Garrett. So no, he does not want #1 money, but he definitely sees himself as worthy of top 3 money. Would take that in a heartbeat for Trey! RE: Trey Hendrickson Update - c766 - 06-01-2025 If trey actually sits out a year, and loses 17M, he'd get around a 2 year 20 mill dollar deal, max, for age 32/33 season RE: Trey Hendrickson Update - MTBengalsFan - 06-01-2025 (06-01-2025, 06:40 PM)SunsetBengal Wrote: Actually, Trey is asking to be matched with Crosby's salary, not Garrett. He's worthy of that, but if he falls off a cliff two years from now, he won't give aco.mensurate "refund" to the Bengals. He got a 1yr/$12.6m deal with a $9m signing bonus this offseason. -Malcolm Koonce has had 0.0 sacks in 2 of the last 3 years and has a career 10.0 sacks in 4 years... and got 1yr/$12m this offseason. -Chase Young has never had an 8 sack season before, and he got 3yr/$51m with a $17m signing bonus and over $27m guaranteed at signing. The cap is projected to rise another $28m next year to $307m, and you're out here making up 2yr/$20m for a guy with back-to-back 17.5 sack seasons. Well hell. If we're gonna do that, why don't we just find out how all the other guys got their sacks. You know, just so we can have a fair comparison. No, playing 10 games and failing to register a single full sack is what cost him. He would have gotten more money if he had sat out the whole year... and he still got more than the $10m/yr you said Hendrickson would get. |
