I came in late here and have had to catch myself up to speed.
I'm not ready to write the defense off yet, but this isn't too terribly surprising if this is what we have. Let's just be clear - this is bad. McKee is lighting these guys up. However, here is what I think the reality of the situation is...
This defense has below average talent. People pointed to Lou and said "scheme this, scheme that". The problem is that there just isn't a ton of talent on this defense. This is mostly the same group that we trotted out last year. We just have a new coordinator and a few new faces. That's it.
It's pre-season. This is the time to screw up. This isn't necessarily indicative of things to come, but I am also not going to be surprised if this group isn't very good.

Not sure if that has happened before but it's definitely in play this year
